New Weed Season, Rinse and Repeat?
Springtime is here, and so are the weeds I thought I killed for good last year. I thought the triangle approach in combination with pre-emergent I applied (prodiamine) last season would have kept back the weeds this year, but in some places the weeds seem worse (perhaps due to thinned out grass from...

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Mulch mowed the tons of leaves on the yard. Probably 2-3 more times before all the leaves have fallen.

Is this Bermudagrass?
I thought my front yard was infested with nimblewill, but now I believe this is bermudagrass, could someone confirm? https://extension.umd.edu/resource/bermudagrass I'd appreciate confirmation before I hit it with Bayer Acclaim (Fenoxaprop) this week. https://i.postimg.cc/D8ztLY0n/IMG-013869.jpg Tha...

Re: August 15: "Start of Fall Season"
I've got some blue label TTTF grass seed (zero weeds this time), gonna pick up some ez-straw for some dead spots and a blanket for this sloped area between the deck and the woods which ended up being a miserable failure (gonna Roundup the failed area first). It's been upper 80's F and around 90% hum...

Re: Post-Mortem? Chinch Bugs?
I stuck an old tulip bulb planter (about 3 inch diameter) near the edge and poured in water, watched for about 15 minutes and kept adding water (was seeping up from the ground at this point), didn't see any bugs come up. Maybe too heavy on the overseeding last year, but now I know how to check. Than...

Post-Mortem? Chinch Bugs?
Last fall I overseeded with Jonathan Green Sun and Shade (which I admit had 0.05% crop seed and 0.02% weed seed). Now that the rains have come back after the July drought, I'm trying to figure out what happed in the big dead spots. Here's some pics of my back yard, with some 3-foot diameter areas of...

Re: Weed, ID Please
Thanks, Hazard, I'll try hitting both with Triclopyr 8% (Ortho CCO) every 2 weeks for about 2-3 times to see if that takes care of it (want to avoid RoundUp)

Re: Weed, ID Please
Last question (I Promise!!!)
I don't think this is Asiatic Dayflower, it's starting to form a few pink blooms on the right of the picture (not blue).

Re: Weed, ID Please
Could someone please help me identify the weed in the second picture of the original post (extra pics of the same weed below)? I tried hitting with one application of Halosulfuron but the application didn't do anything. (I applied Dimension in the spring, and Prodiamine on July 1). Could it be Dalli...

Re: Japanese Stiltgrass: Keep Your Eyes Open
Glad I found this thread, I saw it cropping up along edges of my driveway, forest, and street while walking the dog. Painful to to pay the $$$ for the Acclaim Extra, but I know it's a pay-me-now or pay-me-later kinda thing.

Spot treated yard with a mix of Ortho CCO (Triclopyr 8%) for the clover, and Quinclorac 18.92% for the speedwell. Then spot treated the nutsedge with SedgeHammer

Re: Need help Identifying this weed
I had someone ID my weed as Speedwell: 2,4D/Dicamba/MCPP (Ortho WGB) took out some but not all the weed and I can't apply any more this season; so far Triclopyr 8% (Ortho CCO) has been ineffective.
I'm going to see if Quinclorac 18.92% will take care of it.
