From experience, the posted witches brew does work well. I think you are smart to hold off until you are ready to fully commit and tackle the Bermuda as appalachianturf described.
Use the rest of this season to work on other things and hammer that bermuda next summer!

Re: Bought a Honda HRX-217
Funny, I have the HRX and can't stand it. It leaves pieces of uncut blades all over my lawn, I usually have to cut my lawn twice. There seems to be no vacuum to pull the blades back up once the wheels roll over them. I have had the mower for...

Re: Bought a Honda HRX-217
Congrats, I heard nothing but good things about this mower (wish it came in 30" size). Mind sharing which tool model did you used to sharpen the blades?
I have a pretty small lawn, so the size isn't a big deal for me. It is the Smith'...

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
I bought the Honda HRX-217. I got it home, sharpened the blades, gassed it up, and took it for a spin. Sprayed glyphosate over the fence to maintain the barrier between my lawn and the junk in the field. I sprayed the flowerbeds while I was at it. I need to plant some flowers and mulch the flowerbed...

Bought a Honda HRX-217
I bent the shaft on my eight-ish year old Toro Recycler last fall and have been vibrating along and mowing with it since. It wasn't too bad but needed to be replaced. I finally broke down and bought the Honda HRX-217 after researching, reading posts here, and fretting over it. I really wanted to loo...

Re: What do you wear when spraying for weeds, fungicides?
I typically wear pants, long sleeve shirt, and my regular old tennis shoes. If I'm going to be doing a lot of spraying or using something particularly nasty I use a cheap respirator with a P100 particulate filter. If it is a few spot sprays here and there I usually don't bother, although I probably ...

I would like to tackle the Boron and Copper this year.
Is 3 tablespoons/K every 60 days the correct rate for this yard as well?

Darkcrisis' Parents 2018 Soil Test
Hello ST6, I’m back for a 3rd time to ask for a soil interpretation for my Parent’s TTTF lawn. I’ve got 2 full seasons working on correcting this lawn under my belt and it is amazing. It puts my lawn to shame. In 2017 I applied 2lb/K of TSP several times throughout the season. I applied 3lb/K of SOP...

Re: Darkcrisis 2018 Soil Test
Andy, Thank you for your expertise and time! It looks like I have come a long way since the beginning and I am finally getting to the maintaining portion! Would TSP instead of a starter fertilizer be ok since I just need to bring up the Phosphorus? I have plenty on hand already and I try to limit to...

Darkcrisis 2018 Soil Test
Hello ST6, I’m happy to be back for my 4th soil interpretation. This is taken from my entire 6,000sqft TTTF lawn. I have a 1 year old TTTF reno in the back and basically a triv farm in the front. The good news is everyone says it is beautiful. History: Last year I applied Pennington Lime at 3lb/k on...

First mow of the season! I should have mowed a week or two ago. It felt good to get out there and sweat!

Forsythia is in bloom so Pre-Emergent went out on both lawns today. Once we dry out I will be doing my first mow of the season.

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
My yard: Gathered soil samples and decided to spot spray the triv that has gone nuts recently. Sprayed some roundup in flower beds, along the curb, and over the fence about a foot into the field to keep all that crap from creeping into my yard. Parents Yard: Gathered soil samples and cleaned leaves ...

Re: How 'bout it Transition zone?
It hit 80 here today. My grass has greened up out of the yellowing stage caused extreme cold we had in January. It is slowly growing and the triv has exploded. There are a few weeds here and there also. I was able to get my final winterizer application out around Christmas. My parents grass (which i...

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
Started the mower yesterday! It was 60 and sunny. Got out in the back and mulched the last of the oak leaves and some of the Japanese Maple leaves - the rest are yet to fall. I also got to unbox my new Ego blower. Man, that thing is fantastic. It's more powerful than my Stihl gas powered. Very nice...

Re: Milorganite on Sale
I will add to this. If one store near you doesn't have it, look at the others within a reasonable distance from you. I had to drive 20 minutes to a Walmart that actually sells it. This store is located in a more rural area.

Milorganite on Sale
My local Walmart has Milorganite on clearance for $5/bag. You might want to check since people like me buy it all up when it is that cheap. Normal price here is $12/bag at every store so this is a steal for me!

Re: Turflon Ester (Triclopyr) in TTTF lawns
I can't commend on mixing Triclopyr with your current mix... I can shed some light on your bermuda question... Last summer I did what appalachianturf suggested in an old post from 2010, except I skipped the October Fusilade II application. I've continued the monthly applications this summer. You can...

ken-n-nancy's reply is my basic philosophy and understanding as well. I attribute my 2016 Reno's success to the persistent use of Serenade!

Re: 2017: What did you do on your lawn today?
I roped off a few parts of the yard with damage and seeded and put down peat moss. These areas were damaged from the dog, being directly under large trees, a large dead spot from rinsing the spreader after a TSP application this spring, and damage from a large rubber mat that my sweet 5 year old put...
