Thank you morph! Mom couldn’t be happier! I think I might make her some kind of lawn trophy for Mother’s Day!

Cabinet maker sawdust
This year I’m planning to start spreading saw dust on my yard. I hope it will flow though my earth way spreader but if not I guess I’ll just fling it around by hand :aikido: I already found two cabinet makers who will let me have some :yahoo: The first said his dust is never treated but may have a s...

Mom’s 2021 soil test results
It’s been tough to get annual soil sample at my moms house. The last one was in 2017... but she doesn’t follow the plan too aggressively anyway. Her grass has improved tremendously over the last few years. The backyard is kbg and tttf. It’s 1500 sf in full sun, bag mowed regularly and irrigated when...

Re: agn015’s 2021 soil test results
Thank you Andy! 2lbs/k of K every 60 days would get me an app now, June, August and early October. I know about the snow mold risk with potassium after September... Did you omit the October app or include it in the plan? I’m leaning towards including it. Yes, let’s keep working on the boron! I’ll ce...

agn015’s 2021 soil test results
Wow I can’t believe this is my 6th annual soil test! I’m happy to see the pH is dropping a little closer to 7 and I like that the OM is continuing to climb. But I’m a bit disappointed to see the exchange capacity fall. Although, I can’t complain much considering we began this journey at a measly 3.7...

Re: Sharpening my own blades; what tool to use
An angle grinder and a flap disc work great, plus it has a gazillion other uses. I second this and I'd also recommend a lift and impact wrench, if you have a tractor. I'm getting older and pulling the deck and fighting with getting blades off is too much. I now lift the front and pull the three bla...

I just bought a 50lb bag of urea from LICA. Total cost was $24.71 out the door. They had it in stock when I was there on Tuesday.

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Dropped 0.36lb N from ocean gro. I was out of commission since 7/31 with a couple herniated discs in my spine but I’m surprised at how good the lawn looks despite an abrupt stop to serenade apps, less frequent mows and relying on nature for water. Due to the current health of my spine, I’ll probably...

Re: I think I fixed my mower?
How old is the mower? Is it new or used? I've always bought used mowers and make sure to do a full tune-up the day I buy it and then annually as Andy suggested. I'm just a little ocd and actually keep track of runtime hours with a cheap hour meter/tachometer but that's not necessary if you only mow ...

Re: Ugh!! Chapin 24V Sprayer Died
Good luck with Chapin support Andy. I have the 20V version and had to contact them when my battery failed. They sent a replacement pretty quickly. Last year I had an issue where it was completely dead and wouldn’t spray. I took off the plastic pump housing and found one of the electrical quick conne...

Re: AGN015 2020 Soil Test
Grass is still waking up. Sunnier spots are looking fantastic while the shady spots are still lagging behind. My plan is to drop the first 1lb of K around the same time I drop Bay State and boron. I also lied about poa annua, there's def plenty of that still hanging around...

Re: AGN015 2020 Soil Test
Thank you Andy! Hmmm I wonder where the magnesium is coming from? Maybe it was a sampling error but I’m not sure. Both last year and this year I used a proplugger to grab the inch between 3-4” depth. Would adding OM unlock some magnesium that was previously unavailable in my soil? My first soil test...

AGN015 2020 Soil Test
Good morning everyone, I just got my 2020 soil test results back. This is now my 5th year of soil tests and I'm pretty happy with how the numbers are looking. I'm not sure why the pH increased so much as I've never put down any lime, ever. Does an increase in potassium drive an increase in pH? I was...

yeah, ferris farms has it , thinking of taking a ride this week. I will also check bartells in Clark. I know it is not essential travel but I am starting to go nuts at home here. Have been using mask and gloves when I go out trying to do my part. Give Bartell a call first to make sure they’re open....

I was lucky and got the April sale price last weekend. My supplier was closing on Monday 3/23 so he was nice enough to honor it early.
