To be honest if anything those spots were a little dry. It looks sloped because of camera angle I guess.
I did throw a little more seed down. I worry about too much seed because of disease issues later on. But I went light
Thanks guys

Re: Onion grass
I'm thinking about painting w/ round up plus NIS.
Should I wait a little since it's in a 3 week old Reno?

Dormant triv
Don't have a pic right now but been trying to figure out what my issue might be. Doesn't look like disease, looks like dead or dormant triv. I'm hoping it's dead.... Lol. Is triv still dormant this time of year in NJ? I realize a lot has to do with location as far as how much sun etc. In general doe...

Re: Fall Shedding
Year after year, I've read Andy's posts on this. But every year, I have trouble determining if it's really happening. I noticed more brown blades than usual in a few areas, but close inspection showed a bit of rust in one area and some drought stress in the other. Not sure if I've really ever seen ...

Re: My Favorite Hosta Sale (with Coupon Code!!)
Can't remember the name but I have a couple hostas that have more of a yellow color. They are planted in a space just outside of the canopy of a huge dogwood. Mostly morning, some afternoon sun. They are growing every year and getting bigger but the leaves are looking scorched. I was under impressio...

Onion grass
I did a renovation bout 2 weeks ago. Everything looks great, grass is bout 2" now. The odd thing I noticed is patches of onion grass. Never had an issue with it before. So is it from my grass seed or just been in my soil? Crazy thing is there's like 10-15 patches in an area of only a few hundred sqf...

Re: Milorganite in addition to aeration and overseeding?
I personally would not fertilize seed down for an overseed. Milo has some fast release nitrogen and you want the seedlings to mature enough to keep up with the existing grass. Otherwise your be mowing the exiting grass and walking all over the new. I did an overseed also (and a small Reno) but I use...

How much nitrogen
I put starter fertilizer down on my Reno. When should I apply again, how often and how much nitrogen for new grass? I know as far as pre emergents go its after 3 cuts.

Re: Seed selection
Yep..... triv been an issue there. Hit it in late spring with Velocity. Seemed to work, or maybe it's too soon for triv to rear its ugly head. Dormant all summer

Seed selection
I have an area that doesn't get much sun so when it rains the water sits around longer. It's not a low spot or a heavy compacted area. It's along side my garage which faces northeast. So I'm going to try this https://s26.postimg.cc/51j1y0o7p/IMG_0590.jpg Any thoughts? If it doesn't work, I'm going t...
