Re: A grassy something invasion?

The yard was preped by the builder. I put the seed down. The lot had been woods until they cleared it. When teh final grade was done, a lot of soil was brought in for the front but none in the back. He used a small tractor with a Harley Rake on it to prep the lawn. I guess the Poa could have been in...

Re: A grassy something invasion?

ok. I'll push mow. :banghead: I am assuming that this stuff came with the seed I purchased from summit seed. The lawn is about 12 months old and I have this stuff everywhere. My neighbors on the left and right do not. How unusual would it bee for seed to be contaminated this way. I will need more se...

Re: A grassy something invasion?

So the certainty is ordered and should be here Tuesday or so. Then it will take me a few days to cover all 30-40K sqft of the lawn with my 2 gallon sprayer. The weather here has been really cold and rainy but it is supposed to start getting into the 70s. Do I really need to bag my clippings until I ...

Re: A grassy something invasion?

I really do feel like I'm watching a sci-fi/horror movie while reading this thread. An ancient beast let loose upon the land... Learned masters training the young hero... Military scientists/strategists in the backroom discussing the precision required for success and finding new ways to battle the...

Re: A grassy something invasion?

If getting the mix just right is important, I would probably be better off using a pump style sprayer rather than my ortho hose end sprayer. Does that sound right?

Re: A grassy something invasion?

Yup. Lesco is where I got mine. Ok. Can you tell me what to expect from certainty? Will the poa turn brown and die or just slowly disappear? Any thing else it will kill? Also why did I get it this spring and none last spring? Was it in the seed? My neighbors who have new lawns seeded in the fall wi...

Re: A grassy something invasion?

Sorry Andy - I missed your first question about whether it grew in bunches or irregualr circular areas ... Right now it is in bunches. But if the bunches keep spreading, I guess they will form .... an irregular circular pattern

Re: A grassy something invasion?

This is one of those occassoions where anticipation does not feel very good. Here are the answers to your questions... 1) are the leaves crinkly at all? - No (2) does it seem to prefer slightly shady or wet areas, although it will grow anywhere? Yes.
