Yeah, I looked and no rentals nearby. Any chance you're in western MA and want to rent yours out? I'd PM you but apparently it was disabled.

Re: Paul's 2016 Bewitched Monostand Renovation - Day 96 pictures
Hi Paul, I bookmarked this thread as I plan to renovate 5ksqft using a Bewitched monostand this season. Thank you for the detailed posts of your progress and applications. For my previous renovations (~3ksqft) I always hand seeded and hand spread the peat moss. It was long and arduous but it produce...

Re: Class of 2017 Renovations: Roll Call !!!!
I've been quiet for a few years but am planning a ~5k sqft reno of the front/side yard using a Bewitched monostand. In the past my seed down date was early Sep but I am shooting for mid Aug this year which means I need to buy seed and kill soon. This is my 5th reno and I'm still anxious.

Re: Suggestions for a deer fence/hedge
Thanks everyone. The deer don't eat anything on my property. They come in a back corner, stroll through and either leave out the back or the other corner - I must be part of a scenic route along the forever wild that runs behind the neighborhood houses. I don't mind the deer but I despise the ticks ...

Suggestions for a deer fence/hedge
I am considering a fence or hedge to keep deer out of my backyard and am looking for some thoughts. It would be in an area that is currently lightly wooded with mature trees and naturally growing large bushes. It would run about 10-20 feet outside the perimeter I currently keep manicured. It would e...

Re: How to use cheap Scotts fertilizer?
Thanks Andy and Billy. I was referring to the last drop around Thanksgiving when I mentioned winterization. I found the Fall Nitrogen Regimen thread and your Looking Back thread and will go read up on the latest recommendations.

How to use cheap Scotts fertilizer?
Hi all, I use a hybrid lawn program, Lesco Stonewall in the spring for weeds and usually a Scott's winterizer. Everything in between is grains and Milorganite. I have 5 bags of Scott's fertilizer I received cheap: 1 bag of Turf Builder with weed control: 28-3-3, 10.4% urea 1 bag of Step 2: 28-0-7, 1...

Re: DLF Keeneland KBG for Shade - Any sources for this year?
I am looking to renovate the next portion of my yard in the fall. This area only sees about 3-4 hours of sun. I was planning to use a Bewitched monostand since my earlier backyard renovations were 40/30/30 Bewitched/Nuglade/Bedazzled. Drew at seedsuperstore suggested Keeneland and it looks quite goo...

Re: CVette's 2016 Soil Test
Thanks Bernstem. Here's morning sun and afternoon sun, the area to the left and right of the shed gets about 3 hours of sun total. Good point on the water - I usually add less water to shady areas but will keep a closer eye on them. http://s33.postimg.cc/4hcpy4j6z/IMG_2353sm.jpg http://s33.postimg.c...

Re: CVette's 2016 Soil Test
Thanks Andy. I missed answering your first question. The lawn is doing well, maybe I can see a small improvement with drought resistance and overall health. I used to deal with Red Thread every year and the KBG refuses to even get a trace of it, even when the front yard gets it - very happy about th...

Re: CVette's 2016 Soil Test
Thanks Andy! Sorry for the delay, I just saw your response. Based on your analysis, here's my plan for the summer: ~6/1 Lime+Epsom Salts ~6/15 Milorganite+Micros ~7/1 Grub Bayer 3mo ~7/15 SBM ~8/1 Lime+Epsom Salts ~8/15 Milorganite+Micros I have never applied Epsom salts before, what do they address...

CVette's 2016 Soil Test
Hi everyone, I would like some guidance on my 2016 soil test results. I have been curious in the past and this year I had my back yard and front yard tested separately. I've combined my 2012, 2014 and 2016 results in one picture. - Are there any notable differences between the front and back results...

I'll rake it out and hope it fills in quick. Ugh, what a mess.

Too much SBM
So I had a little learning curve with my new Earthway spreader. I didn't use the screen and had a "rock" of SBM jam my chute open. I learned my lesson but had a mass of SBM in my lawn. I raked it out the best I could before it started to rain. I now have a mushy mass yellowing my KBG in this area, p...

Re: What to do with acorns?
I just leave the acorns alone, they haven't caused any problems for me yet. Sometimes they feel like driving a mower on ball bearings. As others have said, they'll sprout in the lawn sometimes. I have three that sprouted in a mulched area and I left them alone. They are about 3' tall now and I plan ...

Re: Blow out yourself, or hire?
I have thought about investing in a huge commpressor... however the size is to big to be sitting in my garage for 12months out of the year collecting dust. So i will just hire it out - at ~50$ or so - it bites the wallet a lot less than a giant compressor and/or new sprinkler lines/heads... This is...

Re: Commute?
If you don't run the engine for 6 weeks, it starts the engine in maintenance mode for a few minutes. That's pretty cool, I didn't know that. I'll take a deeper look at the Volt when I'm ready to get a new car. gtnike, that's awesome. I know that companies will often lose money on a product to get i...

Re: Commute?
I think the Volt is great but I'm looking for a pure EV and the Leaf is odd looking to me. The Volt handles range anxiety with an IC-generator set but I don't have range anxiety - I have a second car. I don't want additional systems or parts that need maintenance or can fail. What happens if I don't...

12mi, 25min each way. I'm the perfect candidate for an electric car and am hoping the Tesla 3 will be affordable in 2017.
