Is Sulfate of Potash always 0-0-50?
An Agway near me in Schaghticoke, NY makes their own fertilizer. I called and asked for Sulfate of Potash, 0-0-50. He said it's 0-0-61, granular and white. I asked if it was Muriate of Potash and he said no, Muriate is red. Is this what I want for SOP? I hope so, because it's only $14.25/50lb bag. B...

Re: CVette's 2014 Soil Test
Hi Andy, I'm having a heck of a time finding Potash. Lesco only carries 0-0-22 in granular and 0-0-62 for spray application. They don't carry the 0-0-50 I used in 2012. I tried all my local nurseries, Agway, Lesco and an organic place called Harvest Moon. Everyone wants way over $200 for the 6lbs/10...

Re: CVette's 2014 Soil Test
Hi Andy, I'm scheduling all of this out...
Is it just the SOP and lime that need a two week separation? Micros can be applied near or with either lime or SOP?

Re: Automatic systems & not using part of a zone
All great ideas, thanks everyone! I'll try to find a cap and if it isn't available for my model, I'll dig them up and cap the line.
Kmartel, they are rotors but 2 of the heads are not near the reno area.

Doh, Sorry. I had my own mix messed up in my mind. I thought it was Bedazzled that I swapped in for Award but it was NuGlade. I should have checked my notes - sorry for the confusion.

They're both midnight types that have good disease resistance. Color is not very close between the two.

Re: Automatic systems & not using part of a zone
Thanks TT. I have older 1980's toro heads that I'm slowly replacing with Hunter ones. I'll have to look into heads that shut off but probably wouldn't switch brands just to have this available for the reno.

Automatic systems & not using part of a zone
I'm renovating about 3000sqft this fall and I try to renovate sections of the lawn based on my sprinkler zones such that I don't have to run more than needed. This year the area I'm renovating will require only part of a zone (2 heads out of 4). Based on the constant watering schedule, I don't want ...

Re: New guy researching KBG cultivators, whats your dream bl
What other factors are most important that I should look at vs overall quality? LSD = 0.5 so all of these are pretty much the same in overall quality. What else can I look at to narrow down the list. I may have been in a special situation, but I selected my blend based on disease resistance. I had ...

Well that's concerning. Any idea what changed? Here's the current label so it still has Imidacloprid:
Imidacloprid....0.25%
Other..........99.75%

Re: Question on Grub-Killer Applications
If you see grubs and/or want to kill the actual worms, the Bayer 24 hours stuff works best. It provides no long term protection, however. Bayer also makes a "season long" grub control. I believe it is considered 3 month control. It can be found at the blue big box store. I've been using it for seve...

Re: new spreader
How big are rabbit pellets compared to alfalfa pellets? So you think the 2170 works decently for large organic pellets?

Re: new spreader
Well, I'm going to highjack this thread because it's dead on for my question. I desperately want to replace my Scotts Speedygreen with something that can handle synthetics/SBM/Milo AND alfalfa pellets. I was just ready to choke down $135 for the Earthway 2170 when I read it's 3 hole system doesn't h...

Re: Lesco vs. Earthway 50lb spreaders
light, StayOffMyLawn, what spreader did you end up with? I'm looking at the Earthway 2150/2170 or the Lesco #50/#80. I'm sick of my Speedygreen.
The 2170 doesn't have great reviews on Amazon but it seems to be a winner here. I agree...why does it cost less than the 2150?!?

Re: CVette's 2014 Soil Test
Thanks Andy! Congratulations! CP is nice, it's your typical suburbia :) There are plenty of hotels to stay at too. It's hard to complain about all of the businesses around here since there is no local income tax. It's easy to price match Milo when HD and Lowe's are across the street from each other!...

CVette's 2014 Soil Test
Hi all, I humbly submit my spring 2014 soil test from Logan Labs for a little guidance. Here's my Fall 2010 and Spring 2012 soil threads. I have 15ksqft total (back+side+front). In summary: Between the Fall 2010 and Spring 2012 tests: 18-24-12 Lesco starter applied 1lb/1000/month May, June, Sep, Oct...
