Re: Nitrogen, Winter, and Warmer Climates
Looking up my average soil temperatures in December, Janurary, and Februrary the average is about 40 degrees 0-10cm down. I'm willing to do some testing in the transition zone!

Re: Weed ID
Do some searches on here for Bermuda + Acclaim Extra + Triclopyr. There are a few different formulas that others have used with pretty good success. I've been using that combo and it does a good job of keeping the bermuda from spreading and "killing off" the (visible) bermuda that is there. It requi...

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Sprayed last round of Bermuda killer on the yards for the season. It really should have another application next month but I've got to overseed this fall so that will have to do it. I'm waiting for the tree guys to come put some cables in a large silver maple and trim some of the limbs. Seed arrived...

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Saturday I jackknifed the trailer into my vehicle after taking a load of brush to the burn pile :blackeye: Got a break from the heat and a significant amount of rain. Should be low 80s this week so plan to get some micros spread on the yard. I've been a little behind on everything due to the heat.

Applied Disease Ex on my yard and my parents yard. The conditions are perfect for it and I can see it getting started. Not wasting any time this year.

Let's see your aquariums
In light of Andy's recent aquarium tragedy, I've seen a few people mention their aquariums. I want to see what they all look like! I have a 40 breeder with T5HO lighting and CO2. I'm not pumping high light or high levels of CO2, just enough to make it look decent but still low maintenance. I also ha...

Re: Ruts in lawn
I think the remember Andy advising another user to use a pitchfork or a similar tool. Stick it in the ground near the depressions and lift the soil up to level it out. You may have to do it a few times. That is where I would start.

Mowed, trimmed, and sprayed the area along the curb to supress Bermuda from the neighbors yards.

Re: Help with ID of New Grass
I think that may be annual rye. You might want to compare it to some ID pictures online because I am no expert.

Blew all the crap out of the gutters with my DIY blower attachment and new blower. Then I did a quick mow before the rain. It looks good enough that I will post pictures tomorrow

Currently at 3.5" with TTTF. I think I may stay here this year instead of going up to 4"

Re: Sources for seed
I get my seed from Hogan Seed Company. The tag says 0.00 weed and other crop but is not sod quality/certified. I'd get a TTTF and KBG mix if I had to do it over again. The repairability of the KBG would be really nice. With TTTF the only solution is to overseed.

Re: Darkcrisis 2019 Soil Test
I've got a few bags of Pennington "Fast Acting" Gypsum left over from another lawn I care for.
Can I continue with SOP and TSP? I already have some of it and try to stay clear of Nitrogen during the hot months? 2lb/k is what I've done in the past.
Thanks as always, Andy!

Darkcrisis 2019 Soil Test
This is my 5th soil interpretation and amazed by the improvements. Thanks for all the help! This is taken from my entire 6000stft TTTF lawn. Last year I applied TSP a few times when we weren’t in the dead heat of the summer. A few applications of Milorganite were applied also. I followed the Fall Ni...

Re: Where's the "Forsythia Bloom Line"?
East Tennessee Valley has shown a little yellow on the Forsythia for about 2 weeks. It is in full bloom in my front yard now. Pre-emergent has been dropped!

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Took soil samples at the parents house and my house. About to get cold again for a week or so. The forsythia is starting to bloom so pre-em goes down next change of light rain.
