Re: Guidance for NJ TTTF Overseed
30-days after germination is the standard wait time for Tenacity, phototoxicity is worse for TTTF than KBG so you need to go gentle on the new grass. Seiyanfan is correct. I'm spreading misinformation again. I apologize! The label states: "Wait until the newly germinated turf has been mowed two tim...

Re: Guidance for NJ TTTF Overseed
1. Will you be using 46-0-0 for your Nitrogen? If so just make sure to water it in immediately after applying so you don't burn the blades of grass. TTTF doesn't require as much Nitrogen as KBG so every other week should be sufficient. Every week wouldn't hurt either. 2. I have no experience with T...

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
I'm planning an overseed of my somewhat neglected front lawn with the Hogan TTTF mix again this weekend, In preparation of that I fixed the irrigation line in the small side of my front yard. It was pulled off the barb fitting when I had a waterline repaired last year. I'm doing one last check on my...

Re: Fall Nitrogen Regimens
That's my strategy! Open the spreader just enough to let out the prills, and run around the lawn until I run out of Urea. Not a strategy for the micromanage crowd - but it works. This is what I do for all liquid and granular applications. It may take a few extra minutes but it makes sure everything...

Transition zone here. My grass perked up after the Disease Ex application about a month ago and then slowed down again. I'm expecting it to ramp up in the next 2 weeks or so. Just in time for some Urea.

Re: Increasing organic content
Anyone go as far as taking neighbors grass clippings on trash day and mulching them into your lawn ? I would worry about bringing their weed seeds into my yard! That is the same reason I don't pickup my neighbors bagged leaves in the fall. Luckily I have large trees so I get a lot of free organic m...

Lowered the deck from 3.5" to 3". I may try to take it down to 2.5 after another mow at 3".

See if you can rent a peat moss roller from home depot. It made the job easy. It takes a lot of peat moss and it isn't cheap. It IS worth every penny!

I get my Urea, SOP, and TSP from the AgCentral Farmer's Co-Op in Maryville, TN. A 50lb bag is running $17.09 this year.

Overseeded a few spots that got wiped out by brown patch in the 2016 backyard reno. The rest of the reno is looking better the older it gets! I topped it off with a blanket spray of Tenacity at 4oz/acre.

I'm in for a quick reno/overseed on 600sqft of my in laws front lawn. They sodded it in the spring and 90% got wiped out by brown patch.

That is nutsedge.
Ortho Nutsedge killer will knock it out quick. It just takes a few squirts.

Re: Anyone else drop the heritage/DiseaseEX/Azoxystrobin?
I ended up dropping DiseaseEx at 4# /k last week. It has been super wet, hot, and humid here. Serenade applications got me this far, but it was time to throw in the big guns. I'm starting to see some improvement.

Re: Removing bermuda grass from TTTF
I’ve never used Acclaim Extra before, but am getting ready to buy for Bermuda suppression. I think I need to give my Bermuda a couple good punches this fall, but also want to ensure I don’t hose myself on my plan for fall overseed... Is that 28oz/Acre rate at risk of burning/stunting TTTF? And 32oz...

Re: Removing bermuda grass from TTTF
I broke it down into teaspoons and ml for easier measuring. I think the brew calls for the amount of product, not the active ingredient. Therefore this is what I do with great success. -- Acclaim Extra: 28oz per acre = 3.8 teaspoons or 19ml per 1000sqft Turflon Ester (Triclopyr): 32oz per acre = 4.4...

Re: Fall Over seeding Help
I agree with Dan10 on this. Give Hogan's a call and get their TTTF blend. It will have a mixture of 3 or 4 new and improved turf type tall fescue cultivars that perform well in the NTEP trials. It will also not have any weed or other crop seeds in the mix that can introduce weeds and other junk into...
