Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Not too much activity in the yard yet, but made a stock-up run to Site One in King of Prussia, PA. Picked up dimension for pre-m. ended up a little over stocked since it turned out to be the .15% instead of the .10%, but it will still be put to use. Also grabbed some merit for a grub treatment later...

Help with Grass ID
Hi Everyone, Hope someone can help me with an ID on this grass. Noticed it sticking out in various spots in the yard, which hasn't really woken up yet. It is very dark green with a waxy exterior and curled edges. When attempting to pull to get better view the blades snap in half. thanks! Dan https:/...

When to start the attack on chickweed and bittercress?
Hi All, My next weeds to attack in the lawn will be chickweed and what I think is some bittercress. Finally realized that this germinates in the fall. was always wondering how these weeds were so prevalent in spring. Couldn't spray them last fall due to seeding, but want to address them quickly befo...

Re: Dan's Soil Test (August 2018)
Hi Andy,
I didn't get to do the full fall regimen. My fall fertilizing consisted of a milorganite app on Sept 1 and then a winterizer app of urea day after thanksgiving.
If I wanted to go full organic, how many apps of milo would I do after starting on Aug 15?
thanks again!

Re: Dan's Soil Test (August 2018)
Sorry, wasnt too clear.
Looking for how many seperate applications in the spring and fall, which would then allow me to calculate how many bags. My front is 7500, so each app is 3 bags at bag rate, but might also might use milo in side and back or cheaper alternative.
Tjanks again!

Re: Dan's Soil Test (August 2018)
Hi Andy, Doing some initial planning and budgeting for next years applications. Want to get an estimate on how many bags of milo I will need and see if I can find a local store to order it all at once due to the shortages this year, or possibly take a small trip to Jersey for some ocean-gro. When yo...

Re: Rate Your 2018 Season Results
This season has certainly exceeded my expectations, mostly in the form of knowledge I have learned from this site. My entire thoughts on yard care changed after reading this site and getting help from so many members. I only joined mid-summer, but that allowed me to do a ton of work on the yard that...

Re: Disease/Fungus this time of year?
Hi Green, I thought I noticed something last week when mowing, but didnt pay too much attention. Noticed yesterday that it seemed more widespread.
I put down disease ex at the curative rate this AM to see if it helps.

Re: Disease/Fungus this time of year?
Thanks guys! Do not see any threads, but brown (light and dark) spots on leaves and tips dying. Closer pic below. Does it make sense to put disease EX down or does it possibly need fert? Since seed down date was 9/22 have not applied anything since then. Getting nervous as this seems to be hitting m...

Disease/Fungus this time of year?
Hi All, I noticed an issue in my yard today in the patches where I have overseesed (tttf / prg) about 1 month ago. Tips are turning brown and some brown spots on leads as well. Its cooled down here, highs 50s and lows in 30s/40s, but no hard frost. Was a very wet late Sept / early Oct, but is dry no...

Re: Aggressive nitrogen on TTTF
I think the lawn has a mixture of PR in it before as well. In other bare spots I've put down PR in the past, there is also fine fescue mixed in it as the lawn used to be more shaded, but has opened up recently with some tree removal. the fine fescue seems to be brown and matted down in many spots. T...

Re: Aggressive nitrogen on TTTF
Hi All, thank you for the replies. someone how I missed seeing the replies earlier. in the end, I did end up going with overseeding. I had several areas where I was killing nimblewill with tenacity and realized the dead areas were going to be significant and wanted to at least get something establis...

Aggressive nitrogen on TTTF
Hi All, Seems that the aggressive nitrogen routine is very popular with those with KBG lawns to encourage spreading. Wondering about the effects for a TTTF yard? I know TTTF does not spread and is clumping, but can I expect to encourage, larger, thicker clumps of grass with the aggressive routine on...

Forum recommended timer
Hi All, wondering if there is a recommended timer that most use here on the forum. Was doing some recent testing with my sprinklers and believe I need 4 hoses (zones), each with 2 sprinklers attached. Each zone would be run individually. My water pressure seems to keep me limited to no more than 2 s...

Re: Dan's Soil Test (August 2018)
Hi Andy, thanks again for the tip on Lancaster Ag! Made an early morning trip out there and picked up two bags of Iron Sulfate. Just want to confirm the application. It is 50% Iron, so to get the 2lbs per 1k you recommended I would be putting down 4lbs of the product per 1k? Do not want to end up wi...

Re: Dan's Soil Test (August 2018)
nice find! Not sure if can get out that way over the next couple weeks. Is there a deadline to put iron down this season? Such as not after X date or once growing stops?
