Re: Coastal Georgia Centipede Lawn
should be fine as long as you follow the proper spreader settings. one app after it greens up is plenty, if you don't have a thatch issue can hit it again mid summer....but one is plenty. I'd probably just apply some milo mid summer to green it up a tad if it bothers you.

Re: Coastal Georgia Centipede Lawn
You can buy centipede specific fertilizer 15-0-15, lowes/hd stores may or may not carry it, I have to get it from an Ace hardware or a local nursery. You shouldn't have any brown areas at this point, our centipede lawns up here have fully greened. Your goal should be to just get that new sod through...

Re: Coastal Georgia Centipede Lawn
Rent a core aerator, no telling how compacted that soil after building a house. If you lawn is looking just fine, other than the heat issue...I wouldn't worry about a preemergent now. Also, putting some down on new sod could affect the root growth. I stay away from it this first year. Only takes abo...

Re: Warm Season Shade Grass
Pinestraw!
If it stays shaded all day like whats in the pics, gonna be out of luck with grass. I'd throw some fescue seed down and hope for the best. Doesn't look like enough sun gets in there for even St. Aug.

Re: Hummingbird Garden
I have one but not a pic on hand, butterfly bush, verbena, coneflowers, milkweed, mexican petunia, speedwell, I tried to plant all perennials. I removed my lantana because it was too hard to keep in check. Salvia is great for hummingbirds, they came to mine all summer long last year, but should bet ...

Remove the clay. Dig a hole 3 times wider than the root ball and a several inches deeper than the root ball, fill it up with good garden soil and replant, then mulch.

Re: Advice needed on Bermuda Grass
Ive never heard of atrazine killing crabgrass. Atrazine does have some preemergent qualities I here but its not gonna kill crabgrass unless you mix it strong as heck I would imagine, and that isn't good for your grass. I'm south of you and we won't start seeing crabgrass for another month or so. We ...

Re: Hate these Holly Shrubs - Need Help with Replacement
You are probably going to kill them worrying about them too much, just feel the soil near the crown every few days and see if they need water. Fertilizer wasn't necessary on a plant straight from a nursery. You didn't amend the soil...just left it clay? that ain't good.

Re: Hate these Holly Shrubs - Need Help with Replacement
Never heard of them being an issue. Gardenias in the south are a staple. Easy shrubs to grow, the only thing you have going against you is you planted it now and not last fall. I literally plant them in the fall and forget them other than fertilizing them a little during the growing season. You'll j...

looks like maybe softtouch is in the background on the left of the pic. If you get 6-8 hours of sunlight, you have a ton of choices. Gardenias would be a nice choice.

Re: storage shed color
If its close the house, I'd get it to match, if its way back...I wouldn't worry about it. I'd atleast the roof to match the color of the house's roof.

Re: Anyone Else Shoot Clay?
I've had two 390s, atf got my 20ga after it turned out it was stolen. Several 391s but have since gotten rid of all of them. 391s just couldn't hold up to the shooting our clay guys did. Still have an Xtrema2 for my turkey killin and a couple M1s for the duck hole and doves. Just bought my first ove...

Those 642s are a handful, I've had both the hammerless and hammer versions. Id rather shoot my 629 that those things. Great to carry though.

Re: Overseeding Centipede with Bermuda
Use wheat straw to keep the seed from washing away until it germinates. Overseeding with bermuda makes no sense and I feel would compete and eventually win over the centipede. As expensive as centipede seed it, why did this guy not do his homework.

Too much overhead watering maybe? Not enough sun? If you get heavy with the pruners you cut off the next years buds.

Re: Recommended gasoline grade for HRX217
Look for non ethonal gas near lakes, boat ramps etc. They go through more of it and it will be I guess "fresher". I found a non ethonal gas in the middle of town and it made all my eqipment run like crap, I'm assuming it was old...I mean most people aren't going to by it due to the price....and peop...

they get big, I bought a couple on clearance from HD last fall, doing great so far this year, of course the more sun the better. My neighbor has some that are 8ft tall.
