Re: Pulling up like carpet
Hey guys! Yeah it's fescue, I'm fairly sure. This is what it looked like in 2011. This is a closeup. Grows about 2.5-3" a week. Rain or shine. Winter or summer. Extremely thick. Never has been dormant or stopped growing when it was 115F all summer. Yeah, I wish I could let it go to seed and keep har...

Re: Pulling up like carpet
I appreciate your quick responses so much I'll give you quick results. Dug up 2 square feet. Found grubs squirming around the top inch. Threw grubs into the road. Birds will eat well hopefully. Thanks for the suggestions, guess I'm gonna find something to take care of those guys. Does grub killer hu...

Pulling up like carpet
I've had a patch of some type of fescue that's always growing twice as fast as the rest of my TTTF. Even in 110F, it never blinks. It gets irrigated a little bit less than the rest of the lawn because it's like superman. Insert problem. I had a patch die. Probably about 4 feet wide. The weird part i...

Re: Effect of high Organic matter
Thanks for all the responses! The area is on a general downslope towards the street. I would guess its approximately an inch lower so it could hold some water... The water main is 30 feet away, and downhill where the meter is. Meter is about 8 feet from curb with a water line to house running north ...

Effect of high Organic matter
I have a spot in my yard that measures about 10x17 feet. When it snows, this area melts about a week before everything else. When it rains, this spot doesn't like to dry out. I've noticed that bermuda doesn't even like to grow in it that much. If we get 1/2 inch of rain, I can't walk on it. My feet ...

Re: Towing Trees
Thanks guys! That's kind of how I was picturing it, I've seen some being put on side and "dragged". Root Balls towards the hood and drag the leaves. Not on the ground but yeah. Thanks!

Towing Trees
I'm not sure if this should go in this section of the forums....but maybe. I have a 25 foot trailer and I'll be loading up with some oak trees. Smaller ones, about 1.5-2.5" caliper. Is there a proper way to load the trailer? I've never hauled trees before. Do I lay them down? Thanks in advance anyone!

Re: Soil Test Results / How to fix
Thank you so much Andy! I'll apply those this weekend, and I'll find some gypsum to apply as well. Any tricks up your sleeve for reducing Magnesium? Thanks for all your hard work, it's much appreciated!

Re: Soil Test Results / How to fix
Sorry guys, not much going on today. I've been reading on reducing my sodium levels. I know people aren't here every minute of the day, but I'd like to keep posting just so people are knowing my thought train. I know nothing about soils. Fair warning. This PDF show says that gypsum would displace th...

Re: Soil Test Results / How to fix
As for the sodium, I don't have a single idea. The only products that I've applied this year are a starter fertilizer in April for some reseeding and Milorganite about June 1st for fun. Are there other common products that could be added to boost Sodium? My leaf compost? As for rainfall, OKC on aver...

Re: Soil Test Results / How to fix
OK, test complete. I collected soil from each section and removed the roots and stuff (roughly). Soil Collected I measured out 1 cup of vinegar (8oz) and added it to 3 clear glasses. Vinegar measured! I measured out 1/4 cup of each soil. I tried to get the finest particulates, not the big hunks. Mea...

Re: Soil Test Results / How to fix
Haha, thanks you guys! Andy, I'll get a nice cold pint ready so I can bear the results :D I've also wondered if the high Na and Mg levels were from my obsessive mulching. I reapply all my oak leaves to the yard. Could they be moving those elements up? Morpheus: I've never considered getting my water...

Soil Test Results / How to fix
Hey Guys! I just registered here, been on one forum and hopefully branching out to another. I'm in Oklahoma City where it's hot and dry. I finally got around to doing my soil test with Logan and some people recommended I jump over to here. After reading about 30 other topics about soil test results,...
