Re: Who all has put down Pre Emergent?
Our rain chances are starting to go up for Saturday night into Sunday. So I might be able to get mine down late this week and pray for some rain....

Re: 2023: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today (Cool Season)
Sharpened the blades, checked tire pressure, and greased my Ferris mower. Lawn is ready for the first mow but I’ve not had the free time in my schedule yet. Staring at my prodiamine waiting on a rain forecast.

Who all has put down Pre Emergent?
I’m in Indiana and of course the week we were out of town on vacation we got several good rains. Now I’m back and ready and no rains in the forecast right now for the next 10-14 days. The weatherman is never wrong when I need him to be. I’ve got 4 acres I treat so not an option to water it in myself...

Re: Winter Moles
I have battled moles for many years. Both of the houses I have owned in the last 25 years are in rural areas surrounded by crop fields. I have tried all types of traps, baits, etc. The best thing I have found is this style trap. My local Rural King sells them but Amazon and others have a similar des...

Re: Hoosier state, anyone put Urea down yet?
Not sure the weather cooperates enough for me or not. The snow in the morning was barely a dusting and the 90% chance of rain was just a drizzle. Over the next couple days we got another light snow, maybe 1/2 to an inch. No actual rain though. I am guessing by the time we get another rain it will he...

Re: Hoosier state, anyone put Urea down yet?
Looks like I might put mine down this evening. Last weeks temps were still in the 70’s but the bottom fell out this weekend and now below average temps, highs only in the low 40’s and in the 20’s for lows. Tomorrow morning they are calling for a light snow in the morning and then rain showers in the...

Re: Alternative to Fall Nitrogen Regimen
I have a large yard I treat so the weekly route is not an option. What works for me is waiting until soil temps get in the low 50's and apply 2 lbs of urea per 1000 square feet when a rain is forecasted. If you can't do the weekly program this might be your best bet. I have had good luck with this.

Re: Hoosier state, anyone put Urea down yet?
Thanks, my top growth has been nothing for a few weeks but wasn't sure if it was totally because of lack or rain, or soil temps. Like I said I have been watching the maps and soil temps have been in the low 50's for a few weeks, Its amazing watching the online maps how much it changes. Two weeks ago...

I took a set of scales with me and the buckets I had needed to be about 2 inches from the top to weigh 30 pounds.

Hoosier state, anyone put Urea down yet?
We have had an unusual cool snap here in my area and the soil temp maps are showing low 50's (soil temps) for the last 5 days. However the next week or so temps are supposed to be highs in the 70's and lows in the 40's to 50's. I have a few hundred pounds of Urea ready to put down on my large yard b...

Re: New grass wilting, damping out?
How much are you watering once a day? I usually keep my reno's damp until the grass gets a few inches tall, then after that I go to once a week, not once a day. Maybe it's being over watered? Once good watering once a week will help the roots grow deeper then just keeping the surface wet daily.

Re: Fall Nitrogen Regimens
I would recommend checking local co-ops. I called one near me to see if they had the food grade. They did not, however he told me they had a pile of urea left and I could have all I wanted. The farmers are done with it and it won't over winter in their storage barn. Once the farmers are done using i...

Re: DevilDawg81’s New Lawn - 2022 Front Yard
Fortunately I now have all of mine done, except for some maintenance/over seeding etc. With my size of yard I just do a one time Urea treatment around Thanksgiving when the temps are right. I try to keep mine as nice as I can with the lowest cost. I usually apply a Pre M in the spring (last year it ...

Re: Walking on Newly Seeded Area
I've seen pictures where the footprints were visible when the grass first sprouted because walking on it caused better seed to soil contact. The places where they stepped came up better. I've also seen the same with tire tracks.

Re: DevilDawg81’s New Lawn - 2022 Front Yard
Looks good, I have done several large scale renovations on my 5 acre yard the last 7 years or so. I had to depend on mother nature for water so it was tough. I am straight west of you a couple hundred miles or so. (Near the Indiana line on I 70). It has been very dry here the last month or so, I was...

Re: Near instant roundup reaction
I used to buy boxes of roundup quick pro max. They are little packets you mix in with one gallon of water. Last year they were 11.00 for 5 packets. This year the are closed to 20.00 and have not been in stock. I don't have the box in front of me but this stuff had the highest percent of glysophate I...

Re: Fall Nitrogen Regimens
I assume in November a foliar feeding would not have the same effect as granular wood as far as getting reserves stored until spring?
