What is this weed?

I'm seeing them all over the neighborhood here in southern CT.

Thanks!

CT Trees

Has anyone in the CT area purchased from these guys: https://www.cttrees.com/online-store It ($275 for an 8/9' green giant including delivery/installation) is too good to be true. I've contacted several companies and they generally range between $400 to $650 including installation, depending on size...

Re: Gold Tag KBG getting harder to find?

Following-up this old past, is there anywhere these days to get gold tag kbg online like I used to at seedsuperstore (which may be closed permanently)? Also looking for some PR for a particular area in my lawn that I don't care about and just want something to grow quickly (well, I care about it and...

Thanks all. I think I'll go with the thuja green giants.

Are leyland cypress deer resistant?

I always thought they were, and I have 4 in my (deer heavy) back yard that (knock on wood) have been fine for many years, but in thinking of what to plant next (we want a row of 8 'something') across the back of our back yard, I'm reading that they aren't necessarily deer resistant (and even my land...

PreM recommendations

Hi all. While I'm sure I could find it here somewhere, so far I'm not, so figured I'd just ask the question; what's the recommended lbs/sf for prodiamine and dithiopyr granules? I'm in CT, have 20k sf, usually put it down in late March/early April, and I don't mind going on the heavier side (to make...

Re: Near instant roundup reaction

Sorry for my delayed response, but I don't get alerts when there are replies (and I forgot to check-in periodically). I believe it was one of these (but i no longer have the container so I can't be certain): https://www.homedepot.com/p/Roundup-Ready-to-Use-1-33-gal-Weed-and-Grass-Killer-with-Sure-Sh...

Near instant roundup reaction

Normally I use a generic glyphosate concentrate, but I ran out/couldn't find it, so I bought some actual Roundup the other day to spray a few spots of triv. If I recall correctly, with the usual generic I used, it would take days before seeing any reaction at all, and then a few more days to see act...

Sounds good, that's what I was figuring.

Thank you.

Triv (pretty sure I know the answer, just wanted to check though)

I have about 3 very noticeable spots of (almost definitely) triv, in one part of my lawn (each about 1 foot in size) I assume I should just round them up asap, but wanted to ask if it makes any sense whatsoever to try and light them up first with tenacity, and/or do anything different (given the tim...

Too much rain for spot seeding?

I’m certain the forecast will change, but we’re expecting 1” of rain Monday. I’m sure it’s wishful thinking, but if we do get the inch over course of a day, will that wash away spot seeding? I won’t be covering with hay, just lightly scratching and maybe raking in, or maybe some dead grass will cove...

Re: Darn weather forecast got me again...should have known better

Great, thank you for the info!

4"? wow! We haven't gotten more than an 1" probably the entire summer combined. Just sprinkles here and there. My neighbors yards all look like straw fields (aside from the 1 or 2 that water like I do).

Darn weather forecast got me again...should have known better

All summer long, each time the forecast showed rain a week or so out, it would gradually disappear as we got closer. This time however, for a solid week it was showing (an increasing amount) of rain for today (in southern CT), starting overnight last night. Even late yesterday it showed a 90% change...

Re: Is this dollar spot?

Thanks. I'm mostly concerned (for now) about the physical 'webs' that I see, especially when taking the dog out in the morning (i.e. should she not be walking on this stuff if it is a fungus?). The webs seem to disappear once the sun is out for a while, though of course it still might not be best fo...

Re: Is this dollar spot?

Thanks. It's a pretty small area so I'm not overly concerned with harming the grass, I just want to get rid of any fungus (especially since I don't want the dog walking all over it). Does fungicide still work in warmer temp, even if it's not recommended? I'll look further into this online, just figu...

Is this dollar spot?

Assuming it is, would you apply a high N fert, fungicide, both, something else? Please note this is mainly in/near our pup's play area, so whatever is safest (or at least becomes safe the quickest if it has to be watered in) would be best. That being said, we can keep her away from these areas for a...

Re: What type of grass is this?

Thanks. If it is PR it's SS9000 Perennial Ryegrass Blend from seedsuperstore that I bought 2 years ago. I seeded a small area next to my driveway earlier this spring (where some shrubs had been removed in the fall) but could not for the life of me remember if I used PR or KBG. I also threw down some...

Re: What type of grass is this?

Thank you. In the 2nd pic, the blade on the left has a full set of lines on the one blade, and the next blade does have, I think, a canoe tip. Is it therefore KGB?

Also, aside from waiting for more tips to grow in, are there other/bigger pics I can take to help determine what type it is?

What type of grass is this?

Sorry, I've posted a few similar posts in the past as I can never tell if it's KBG or PR.

Thanks.
