Re: Lawn care and pets (a dog specifically)
Quick follow-up; how do you guys feel about Milo, Mag-i-Cal and DG Humic acid in terms of dog safety? We're expecting 2 inches of rain tonight/tomorrow, so I would apply something after work today and keep dog off (most of) the yard until after it dries at end of tomorrow. I would likely skip a big ...

Re: KBG plugs / do you fill in the hole?
Not being sarcastic, but why would you take grass from a problem area and then place it somewhere else? Or do you perhaps only do this if the problem area is simply an area where grass wasn't growing well, not necessary due to a weed or bad grass? In my case, the bad area is a poa triv area, so clea...

Lawn care and pets (a dog specifically)
Following up my post on insecticides (https://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=26927), I wanted to ask how you guys do other aspects of lawn care if you have pets. Specifically, things like fungicide, general weed control (2,4,D), harsher weed control, tenacity/certainty (i'm always fi...

Proper way to install a line of trees
My neighbor is putting up a row of arborvitaes, and I just wanted the company make a 'plateau' of fresh dirt, approx. 1' high and 4' wide. They are now digging holes in the middle of the plateau (presumably down to ground level) to plant the tree. Is that normal, or should they have just dug the hol...

Insecticide question
Not sure this really falls under 'lawn care' per se, but I have some questions regarding insecticide (general insect killer such as for ants/spiders/whatever, not specifically grubs or anything else in particular). 1. Do you have a preference as to what chemical to use (such as Bifen, Permethrin, Ze...

Mowing just hours after Milo ??
Bad idea or doesn't matter? I didn't think I'd get a chance to mow this evening (after putting down Milo at lunch), but now it seems I will have time to mow.
I assume it's probably fine and won't blow around the milo too much (and even if it does, it's just milo...), so should I mow?

Re: KBG plugs / do you fill in the hole?
Follow-up question; how often should I water the spots where I've inserted plugs? Or do I just give it a decent watering at first, but otherwise normal watering schedule? Thanks!

KBG plugs / do you fill in the hole?
I'm finally trying this out; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003MRTVUI When you guys take a plug from a good area, do you 'back fill' it with top soil/peat moss/something? Or just let it naturally fix itself over time (assuming you're not taking too many plugs from one area in which case it proba...

Re: Where to buy generic/inexpensive glyphosate
Thanks everybody. The smaller bottle came in stock on HD so I ordered from there (a couple dollars more than the same size on amazon which of course is now available to order as well, even though it wasn't yesterday). Also, the gallon on amazon wasn't well above $40 or $50 yesterday from 3rd party s...

Re: Where to buy generic/inexpensive glyphosate
Thanks. I actually do have one of each of those stores, not as close as I'd like, but not too far away (so I could stop by if/when I'm next in one of those areas).

Where to buy generic/inexpensive glyphosate
Anybody else having a hard time finding it? The compare n save from HD/Amazon is sold out, and anything else I'm finding (including roundup concentrate) is (of course) much more expensive than the generics. I have not been to my local garden center yet but will give it a try this weekend. Thank you.

Filling in tire tracks
In March/April/May of this year we had some work done at our house, and I let the guys occasionally drive their trucks on the yard (side of my house so I don't care that much), as they would have otherwise had to walk pretty far lugging a lot of sheetrock, etc... In any case, some parts have bounced...

Is this anything for us to be concerned about?

Sorry if it's already been discussed here. I did a search and didn't see anything though.

Re: No rain, no irrigation, what to do?
Thanks. Normally in July/August I setup my homemade/ugly irrigation system (4 prong wifi hose timer in the front, another 2 in the back), but I'd rather not set that up yet (though maybe I should). Otherwise yeah, I could drag around a couple of hoses and do it that way. I have 20k square feet so it...

No rain, no irrigation, what to do?
I'm mostly just venting here as I'm so far behind this year's lawn care (though thankfully I got Dimension down on 3/27). Between ongoing work being done at my house (and not wanting people tracking stuff in, even though we make them take shoes off), and no rain of any substantial amount in the past...
