Re: Status of POACure? (Updated 02/2020 below)
Just want to provide a quick update on the use of Poacure at the golf course I belong to. The area that the grounds super used it on (a fairly long par four fairway and rough) is pristine and no reemergence of Poa Trivialis. The guy, and I, are really impressed. Pway how is the the area with Triv l...

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Sprayed Dimension at about .4 oz per thousand sq ft. Used My4sons backpack sprayer, which I love. I was going to wait a few more days but forecast is for cooler and windy weather with some rain so today was the day.

The forsythia in my yard that has a southern exposure is about 60%-70% in bloom here in central Jersey.

Re: Need some clarification....
Dilution rates don't matter so much for most things (except insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides where it's critical), but as Isabella Rosselini said in Death Becomes Her , "Now a Warning." If you're using concentrated solutions of Dimension or Prodiamine, irrigate them off the lawn immediately...

Re: Need some clarification....
Morpheus, I think I’ve always been too concerned about the dilution. For whatever reason I’ve assumed that the water to AI needed to be fairly precise. Based on your guidance I think I can spray my lawn with considerably fewer 5 gallon tank refills. I use Dimension and assume the same applies. Thanks!

Re: Prodiamine Question
Just to make things a little clearer - "Fall" isn't exactly Fall. Grass seed does best when applied on/after around August 15th. This is the longest period in the year for it to mature before stressful conditions arrive. Spring isn't optimal as the frequent/shallow watering that goes with seeding e...

Re: Prodiamine Question
I am getting ready for my prodiamine application. But I also have a few spots that are a little bare and need some seed. Can I put a small tarp down over these areas when applying prodiamine and be able to seed these areas? Last year I had about 10 or so spots that I covered before dropping dimensi...

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Well not “on” my lawn but related, I started eight 10” Bewitched pots indoors today. It’s probably of more therapeutic value to me than practical but I will use them for bare spots later this spring.

Re: Question re rock salt and grass
Great wisdom, Morph, thanks. You’re right, with the way 2020 has been its better to be safe. Our latest 2020 event was that our 10’ Christmas tree fell over about 15 minutes after decorating it the other day, breaking a few dozen ornaments including a few that have been in the family for almost 100 ...

Re: Question re rock salt and grass
I also have rock salt in the garage in case of emergency or moving glaciers. If it's icy, I'm using it. One or two shots shouldn't be much of a problem. Consistent use absolutely would be if the runoff went onto your lawn. In my case, anyway, water runs down the driveway into the street. So for thi...

Question re rock salt and grass
I’ve never used rock salt (sodium chloride) on my walk or driveway because I have thought (correctly or incorrectly) that it damages the law. Like many in the Northeast we are getting a show storm later today and tomorrow. I have some rock salt my dad had years ago. Is that okay to scatter some on t...

Re: End O' The Road
Not much growth here either. Like Morph just going to mulch in the last of the leaves Saturday. we can't drop any fertilizer after Nov 15th-end of Mar. State law.........BUT professionals are allowed to drop until Dec 1st...Maybe I'll call my friend who has a landscaping business. I can watch him p...

Re: Spray fungus this time of year?
Even that's probably overkill. I have rust every year and don't bother doing anything other than noting, "Oh. Rust again." :-) It really is pretty harmless unless it seriously looks like the surface of Mars. If it does--feed the lawn with a fast-release nitrogen fertilizer. Rust can't stand nitroge...

Re: Spray fungus this time of year?
Rust isn't a major disease and usually doesn't do any appreciable damage. For the most part, it's firmly in the "ignore" column unless it's running wild. Thanks Morpheus. I’m pretty sure I had pythium blight in august but this is different and looks like rust so I’ll probably ignore it and make sur...

Spray fungus this time of year?
I had fungus problems in august and ended up overseeding much of my front lawn. I had been using azoxystrobin and propicanizol, and also got some serenade. There are two or three patches that are yellow and reddish (rust). Should I spray this again at this late date or just figure the cold weather w...

Re: Status of POACure? (Updated 02/2020 below)
Why is it not being released for homeowners? Are there potential environmental problems? Is the active chemical dangerous in some way? There are many products that are only approved for sod farms and golf courses, others for licensed professionals and not residential use. Many people don’t read or ...
