Re: DevilDawg81’s New Lawn - 2023 Edition

Looks great! Definitely odd weather... Our weather in central PA has suddenly changed gears from warm and dry to cool and drenched. Rained all night and forecast shows this continuing through the weekend.

Canada wildfires

How is the smoke impacting everyone? I'm in Southcentral PA and we are seeing it and smelling it. Sunset and sunrise is like something from a dystopian movie. We have a visible haze most of the day. We are also in the Susquehanna river valley so I suspect that may be helping to channel the smoke in ...

Re: Japanese Stiltgrass: Keep Your Eyes Open

Sprayed glyphosate on the young Japanese stiltgrass appearing in the woods near the house. I've spent the last few years hitting the surrounding wooded areas with glyposate on any JS. I also use prodiamine on the lawn in the spring and fall. I really didn't see much last year and this year none has...

It's getting crazy expensive, especially when you consider the raw material it's made from... I've been doing Ace Hardware with a coupon and it is still $20-22 for 32lbs...may be time to go organic.
Isn't milorganite organic?
I guess... It is made from human sewage waste cooked in an oven.

Re: 2023: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today (Cool Season)

Mowed today and it seems that I need to cut about every 3-4 days. The grass is healthy and thick. Unfortunately, I'm also dealing with quite a bit of poa in my back yard in some often wet areas. I know a "guy" who may be able to acquire some velocity, so we'll see. Sadly the yard looks great except ...

Re: DevilDawg81’s New Lawn - 2023 Edition

Heartbreaking... we got the same rain here in PA and the creek behind our house flooded. Rained like crazy all weekend... No danger to the house, but my wood stairs got torn off their mounts. Hopefully, they can be saved... best of luck with the grass!

I’ve always questioned the wisdom of using the Roundup name for this product.

I’m sure there are more than a few folks who don’t read the label and use the wrong kind of Roundup on their lawns…
That would be bad!

Re: Gold Tag KBG getting harder to find?

Following-up this old past, is there anywhere these days to get gold tag kbg online like I used to at seedsuperstore (which may be closed permanently)? Also looking for some PR for a particular area in my lawn that I don't care about and just want something to grow quickly (well, I care about it an...

No-see-ums

I live in Pennsylvania but my brother recently moved to southwest Florida. We were visiting and the no-see-umes (or noseeums) were pretty bad. I have used Bifen IT for mosquito control in Central PA and it works great. I noticed that Bifen is also rated for noseeums. Anyone have any thoughts on usin...

South central PA. Maybe 1/2" so far. Very light but knocking on wood since we need to be on guard until mid-March.
