Re: Yeah, another possible triv question... :(

What about letting it grow a little taller and then applying roundup using cotton gloves?

Re: Not sure if triv or something else

I would say not trivialis. Trivialis generally won't seed in a regularly maintained lawn. To me it doesn't look like annua either.

Re: Poa Triv Invasion Counter-offensive

My Tenacity regimen is Distilled water, Tenacity 1/4 Teaspoon per gallon, 2 Tablespoons DMSO per gallon, 1 tablespoon Ammonium Sulfate per gallon, and any Non Ionic Surfactant. Apply this every ten days. Be relentless, keep it on the ropes. Morpheus recommends eye protection, and rubber gloves and r...

Re: Sorry, another Poa A question

If it is Poa Annua, I would hit it with Tenacity. Tenacity is very effective against Annua. Every ten days.

Re: Poa Triv Invasion Counter-offensive

I would suggest using tenacity. It is much less complicated, and in my experience highly effective. I had so much last year, I used 22 gallons to spray it all. Yesterday I hit what is left with two gallons.

Morpheus, Thanks a bunch. With prices sky high this year I'm glad I don't have to apply much. I'll have to round up some copper. I thinkI might have some on hand.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

I put down prodiamine at 1.5 Tsp/gallon rate, and sprayed whatever Poa Trivialis I could find. I didn't spot much after going hard after it with Mesotrione last year. Last year I had major infestation of poa annua. I have very little of this as well. My experience is that early spring Mesotrione is ...

Masbustelo 2022 Soil Report

This is my report for this year 2022. I used a plug cutter and the various samples were taken between 3.25 and a maximum of 4.0 inches. I am including 2020 and 2021 as well for comparison. In 2020 i applied gypsum, SOP, and Boron throughout the year per Andy's recommendation. Last year I only applie...

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

I spread 1 yard of compost on the poorest areas of my lawn. I have one steep area around a silver maple that over the years has eroded somewhat. The Mazama is starting to grow where it has always been bare dirt before. I have an another area on a hillside where a new septic system line was put in a ...

Re: Should I dig these out?

The picture is washed out so it's kind of hard to tell what's going on. It looks like dormant bluegrass in the background surrounding the clump. The clump could be Poa Triv, but doesn't really look like it. Can you get some better photos of the clump grass? Take the pictures with the sun behind you.

Re: Early Season Pre-M?

Setzer I think you have it figured out that these mature plants got established last year. A lawn that has no protection because pre M wasn't applied last year is vulnerable as soon as the snow melts for cold weather weeds that germinate very early. So I vote for an application now.

Looked at snow on the lawn. However... yesterday I sprinkled wildflower mix around the perimeter to close out the year, and I feel that counts in some small way.

I would add that given the choice of months, don't seed in April. February and early March are better.

I got some leaves raked and chopped today. It is supposed to hit 70 on Wednesday and I'm hoping to mow my front lawn, to chop up more fallen leaves. We got .6 inches of rain this week.

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

I got my first December mow out of the way. Mostly to mulch fallen leaves, then 2lbs urea per k. A little late, but it's still pretty warm. Now we need rain. They said our November was the 7th driest in 6,500 years.

Re: Babe Ruth Baseball Field. 80K

Finally got the soil test back. To my amateur eyes it looks like a sandy soil. That surprised me, I expected clay, but maybe sand was added for drainage? It looks low on Boron and Potassium? Also low on calcium but Ph is good.
