I have used scalped dead (via glyphosphate) material for cover and it worked fine (TTTF).

Thanks, good to know who carries that since I am local to you.
I should say it works very well for preventing brown patch in my TTTF.

Which store do you use?
edit: looks like it is fluoxastrobin 0.25%. I have used it (Disarm M, also has myclobutanil) and it works very well. How many pounds in the bag?

Re: Crabgrass lawn - when to overseed
Here is what I would do. You have a relatively small area to deal with and your goals are stated (not perfect but healthy and minimal brownage), so this is pretty simple. 1. Get about 5 to 10 lbs of quality TTTF seed. You are only going to need about 3 lbs for 400 sf. I would look at places like Hog...

Re: Opinions on bobcat mowers?
I get better stripes at 2.5" to 3" HOC. I raised it to 4" a couple of weeks ago for the heat of summer and the stripes are not as apparent. Hopefully I can start dropping the HOC later this month.

No idea if that is normal but you can probably skip a trip to the gym after pushing that thing around.ericgautier wrote:Guys, I need your input... watch the video and lmk if this is normal for the S15? I have to really "muscle" it to get it to move. Is something wrong?

Re: Chapin's new 20V Backpack Sprayer
I use a CF valve on hand pumped sprayers. I could see the logic on a multi nozzle tow behind to keep the flow the same for all the nozzles. But with a single hand wand sprayer, a CFV is unnecessary. The spray nozzle selection provides the backpressure and thus creates constant flow. But you all can ...

Andy, would pulling the stiltgrass by hand be effective? The patches are few and small enough that I could do it manually, but would this exacerbate the problem? I heard this on the local NPR show "You Bet Your Garden" http://www.gardensalive.com/product/take-a-stand-against-stiltgrass?ai=1358 Disc...

Re: Chapin's new 20V Backpack Sprayer
Chapin specs read 0.4 to 0.5 gpm at 40-60 psi operating pressure.
I use the brown AIXR11005 tip and checked the calibration, my sprayer put out right at 0.5 gpm for the three flow tests I made. Close to the TeeJet catalog rating of 0.5 gpm at 40 psig. YMMV
