Re: A couple of snow on the ground questions
Hence my qualification about "if the area is flat/level".

Re: A couple of snow on the ground questions
Theoretically, Yes. If the area is level/flat, you should be able to put it down and it should work when then snow melts. There is no change that will occur to the Humic Acid. The only risk is that it may migrate if the area is at at steep angle and you get Spring rains while the ground is still mos...

Re: Average First Frost Date vs Real First Frost Date
I agree. The use of both the AFFD -and- the stoppage of growth date creates a double-check on the regimen, and there is evidence the the length of The Pause is increasing. As long as you use the actual data for the stoppage of growth (instead of a calendar calculation), you should be good. Calendars...

Average First Frost Date vs Real First Frost Date
As the author of the Fall Nitrogen Regimens thread, I spend a fair amount of time studying year-to-year variances and how I might improve the checkpoints we use to make the regimen work better. One of the most frustrating, repeating questions I see each year is related to whether to use the (recomme...

Re: NH Overseed Advice
Yes. Even if you had a 90 degree day, that is not indicative that it will be 90 degrees (or even 80 degrees) in 3-4 weeks (the length of the Pause). The best indicator is the long-term average, and that's what the Average First Frost Date is. It is the best predictor of the most likely time when to ...

Re: Near instant roundup reaction
The reason for asking about the color of the bottle cap is that there are multiple formulations of the (branded) Roundup product, and at least one of the formulations has an additional active ingredient that has an effect of a quick "burn-down". In my experience, it can be so fast that the actual Ro...

Re: Alternative to Fall Nitrogen Regimen
I wrote the Fall Nitrogen Regimens thread based on my research (and fiddling around with variations) over 8-10 years. What I learned and found most effective is what is on the first few postings in the thread - the rest is questions answered and fine-tuning performed. The reason for the "every week ...
