hybrid fertilizers "derived from biosolids"

I've seen a few urea fertilizers labeled as partly "derived from Biosolids", some say up to 40%. Some have polymer coated urea. It would seem like a good product, but do these type have the same organic benefits, meaning: amending the soil, maintaining soil life ecosystem? I mean, at least "partly"....

Re: Heat Wave Prep

My full sun sections are showing stress this summer (altho the part sun looks fine). I'll be syringing thru this next stretch of weather. I do it late afternoon. And FWIW, I got in a recent ap of SOP. A few day ago. Hope these downpours don't wash it out. https://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/viewtopic....

Re: Preventing Red Thread...So far so good

Thanks! That's great!

I'm hoping that its something that runs it course. And meantime keep the grass and soil as healthy as possible. I've been doing similar treatments...and bagging clippings during outbreaks...

Re: Preventing Red Thread...So far so good

This is a six year old thread, but I thought I'd give it a shot...

Have you been able to keep the red thread under control the following years, springs?

any tweaks to your method?

Syringed yard late afternoon.

I’m seeing a lot more chipmunks and squirrels since I dropped cracked corn, but saw one get bagged by a hawk this morning  . Ecosystem in action.

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?

Mowed @ 3.75”, then dropped 15#/K of cracked corn. This is my first time using it. My red thread flare up has run its course now, so this is something of a try out. I put my ultrasonic rodent repeller outside, but the first thing I see coming home after dinner is a chipmunk munching away… I also put...

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?

Sprayed lawn with BLSC/KH. Added a dollop of molasses, and AMS/defoamer with ammonium sulfate (roughly 1/2 rate). It was windy, but I wanted to get it down before I irrigate tomorrow. The yard needs it. I see a lot of yards on my way to work that need it too...

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?

Sprayed yard with a mixture of Serenade, kelp, humates, yucca, and molasses. 4 oz./k for Serenade and 2 oz./10k for Yucca. I figure within 8 spays I’ll get a pint of yucca down annually. Altho I’ve doing prevention, the red thread has been really terrible and spreading. I would hate to see it with n...

Re: Class of 2017 Graduation Pictures

This renovation was 4k, and the final of three sections. Challenges included killing off existing zoysia, contracting out tree work (two visits), and expanding the in ground sprinklers. This site has been a great resource! https://s15.postimg.cc/422xwlzmf/IMG_1515.jpg https://s15.postimg.cc/q19cjubb...

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?

Sprayed yard with Serenade, 4 oz/K. I mixed it with kelp help, molasses, and yucca. My target is red thread. Unfortunately, this past week it really flared up, despite starting sprays pretty early. This is my third one. My intervals are around ten days, pending my schedule and Mother Nature. It’s be...

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?

Sprayed an application of serenade (4 oz/K) mixed with kelp help with a dab of molasses. Historically, I’ve been getting red thread this time of year. Hopefully, I can curtail that…

Put down Scotts Grubex, mixed it with Milorganite for an even throw/coverage. Just beat the rain.

Re: __JT’s__2017 front yard_renovation_

It turned out good that the boom was spaced out more than illustration (just a sketch to wrap my brain around it). But on that note, the patterns are ellipses (not circles in perspective) so some overlap is necessary, because if they were toe to toe, there would be more concentration in the center.

Re: __JT’s__2017 front yard_renovation_

Oops. I wrote that last thing incorrectly. I meant the drawing’s scale ended up being true, but with the 34” boom I got 10” onto ~49” making it around 59”…which ended up being good…

Re: __JT’s__2017 front yard_renovation_

Yes, the nozzles would drip. If not level to each other, the lower one drips, but at equal height they don't. The 6-7780 might work for you. So much depends on the output swath width (and height from ground, speed and droplet size). I’m 6’ 2” and I walk at a “treadmill speed”. The 80 degree red tee ...

Thanks Guys! Hi kevreh, No problem. This is the set up. A Chapin 20V, and I made thr brass wand from dfw_pilot’s post from the equipment forum. I use that for spot spray and cutting in. https://s1.postimg.cc/4c6dro9b6j/171019a.png For the double, I used the plastic wand that came with the Chapin, be...

Re: __JT’s__2017 front yard_renovation_

I guess I’m around 66 days. I’ve been mowing with the tractor, doing the whole lawn at once. It feels good to have a unified lawn, after 3 seasons of renos (two documented here). This reno is 4K, total lawn is 10K. The last cut was ~2.75”. I was actually aiming for 3.25”, but my deck is calibrated a...

Re: __JT’s__2017 front yard_renovation_

Thanks probasesteal! This is 56 days. The spots with fungus appear to be have faded with minimal damage, so I pulled the flag markers up. The flagged areas were getting too high, and I have been getting rust, so I used a tractor with a bagger and cut it to 2”. I cleaned the undercarriage out afterwa...
