Re: best soil combination for growing hot peppers

Big box store garden soil, top soil, compost grown. Carolina Reapers are finally coming in. Got a late start due to 3 weeks constant rain in late April/early May. EDIT: to add, I'm not sure why those green peppers came out purple  They all came out of the same seed pack? But they produced ...

Our back and side yards are mostly Zoysia. The front hell strip is all Zoysia but the remaining lawn is mixed Zoysia/TTF/crabgrass, broadleaf & grassy weeds. I mainly used to use RTU blanket sprays. But after joining this site I see I can step up my game with better products and practices. With this...

Don't folks with irrigation systems drain and blow them out dry to prevent freezing in the winter months?

Prefered granular herbicides

Are there any good granular herbicides? Is Scotts Halts CG preventer any good? Are there any prefered surfactants and marking dies if move to a spray? Ours cuts really good and misses no blades. Cutting @3" is great. My first attempt @2" it leaves the dreaded /\/\/\/\ marks. I'm wondering if I maintain the HOC @2" if that will go away or if I crisscross? If not I'm ok with leaving it @3". I read but don't quite understand the post about # of blade...

The number of blades is one variable in the clip rate equation. Ideal conditions exist when height-of-cut (HOC) equals clip rate. Read this document starting on about page 11. The bottom line is more blades are not always better - it really depends on your HOC and other factors. Thanks for this inf...
