Re: Hydrangea Help

Bpgreen...thanks for the response. Yes, I confirm the yellow and green leaves. If it’s iron deficiency, I can up the ante on the Milorganite next season. The sulfur idea seems to be a popular one. I’m going to work some sulfur into the soil tomorrow. Too late in the season for results this year, cro...

Hydrangea Help

Greetings ATY’rs... Hoping to get some help with my hydrangeas, I believe they are the mophead variety. Located in Northwest Montana zone 5b. This is my third season and I have yet to see a bloom. I know they are capable of blooming because I’ve seen pictures of them from the prior owner. I get annu...

Re: Soundgro Fertilizer a Milorganite Replacement?

Update: I spoke to reps of Soundgro via email. They state that their product is very similar to Milorganite and I should see the same results regarding greening of the lawn. I’m skeptical. Yesterday I applied Soundgro to the back lawn and Milo to the front. I’ll let everyone know the results in a a ...

Re: Summer Dormancy: What's Your Situation?

Yes, the goal was to keep it green and I have. With lots of help from Mother Nature. Unusual amount of rain so far in July. Have irrigation but have only used four times all season. Temperatures well below normal as well. Went with a 4” HOC this year for the first time, usually 3.5”. Seems to also m...

Re: Soundgro Fertilizer a Milorganite Replacement?

I found a 2010 nutrient analysis for Soundgro that shows 0.55% iron. Have yet to receive reply for my questions from the company. That small amount of iron is not encouraging for me to use the product. My lawn has a ph of 8 and needs that chelated iron for good green-up.

Soundgro Fertilizer a Milorganite Replacement?

ATY’rs...my local ag supplier is now stocked with Soundgro fertilizer (5-5-0) as a Milorganite replacement. The product is manufactured equal to Milo in Pierce, Washington. My question to you folks is if anyone is familiar with the product and has used it? Also if anyone knows the iron content and i...

Re: SOP as Micronutrients Vehicle

Great news! Thank you for responding. My last application of the season for micros is smack dab in the middle of my fall regimen and I do not want to add slow release Milo too late in the season. I’ll give it a try. I’m glad to know it’s worked for someone else.

Smolenski7: I’m kind of in the same boat as you. Although my spots are much smaller and fewer. I have maybe 50-100 small triv spots. Never had them before this year. I marked them with Tenacity then used Round-up for the kill. I’ll deal with the dead spots for a while.

Re: 2019: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?

Mowed. Grass growing so fast had to raise the deck from 2.5” to 3”. Will probably drop it back down next mow. Applied BLSC/KH. Applied 2,4-d.
