Welcome to the sickness!!!:). Good thing is that you buy quality stuff and you will rarely have to buy anything again. I think it pays for itself in the end!!

Re: How much does Primo slow down growth?
If you are mowing every 3-4 days right now, I think you would be able to maybe go 5-6 days with Primo. You could play around with the application rates and see if you could get 7 days. You may also want to look into cutting back on the Nitrogen too as that could help slow the growth some. REEL MEN MOW

Does your bank offer a free financial advisor? I think that might be the best way to go unless we have some CPA's on here.
I have USAA and I know they offer free financial advice but not sure of other banks or credit unions.

Re: Side cut picture of Patriot Bermuda at 2"
It's already dark so I can't take a picture but here is my Bermuda at 2" back in the middle of July. Sure it may not be as perfect as those who mow low but my yard is quite bumpy and I use a rotary mower. So if I go any lower you see scalping everywhere and it looks awful. Next year I'll try to smo...

Re: Hope I haven't messed up.
For cool season grass! You want to start backing off the Nitrogen as the lawn gets ready to go dormant in a month or two. Since Milo is slow release you will be fine though.andy10917 wrote:Hell no. This is the heart of the best fertilizing time of the year.

Re: Prodiamine application question
I would apply the Prodiamine AFTER the sand and BEFORE the leaves. You want the Prodiamine to contact the soil so if you apply the sand after the application then you are giving weed seeds a place to germinate above the protective layer so to speak. It may actually not be all that big of a deal but ...

Re: Prodiamine and Celcius...
No, there shouldn't be any issues at spraying it now. Prodiamine just creates a barrier that prevents the weed seeds from germinating in the soil. Spray away!!!

Re: Mid-season Scalp?
Once you get your 1st or 2nd hard freeze it will most likely go dormant for the winter. So no mowing is required.

Re: Stripe issue when mowing
Either the reel to bedknife is out of adjustment or you hit something in the tall grass while mowing that caused it to get out of adjustment and/or nicked the blades.

He's got seeded Bermuda, so 2" is fine and plus it's new seedlings so you don't want to scalp it this late in the year as it would seriously effect root growth.

Re: Trying To Get It Greener
To me it just looks like it needs a little more water and it should "perk up". Just remember that the grass is new and its roots aren't all that deep so it doesn't have as much "access" to water as a mature lawn would have.

Re: Trying To Get It Greener
Is the lawn just getting 1" a week of water regardless of the weather? Looks like there is a slope there too? You might just need to up the water a little bit and pay special attention to that slope by watering for less time more often. It is new grass so I wouldn't expect it to come into its own un...

Zoysia and Bermuda won't look good together. Why do you want a cool season grass or Zoysia for?

Re: Time to throw in the towel?
I have been dealing with my lawn for about 10 years now and it's still gets frustrating at times but just keep at it and you will eventually get there or you will want to raise the bar of what you want to achieve. Just think of it as a marathon and not a sprint(wrote this before seeing Andy's post :...

Re: Where Do you Warm Season Guys Store Chemicals?
I store all my liquid chemicals in a cabinet in the garage by the door that goes into the house. So far, I haven't had any issues with anything stored in there. I keep all my fertilizers(dry chemicals) in a room in the garage that is under the stairs for the bonus room(it's semi temperature controll...

Do a search for a Pro Mow gang reel mower. You could PM Michael Wise as he use to have one. It might be the middle ground you are looking for!
