Re: Josh's 2022 soil test

Anything that returns to powder is usable. Anything that didn't gets the hammer again.
Morph, you gave him Rule #1 and Rule #2, but skipped Rule #3.

Rule #3: "If multiple hammer hits fail, "GET A BIGGER HAMMER".

Re: Question on Iron & Zinc

This is exactly why we can't provide interpretations for labs other than Logan Labs. Most people think "a soil test is a soil test", but different testing suites use different tests and result ranges, and we can't (as volunteers) know all the hundreds of labs and their optimal ranges. One lab uses t...

Re: Why sample only 1" of soil?

I'm the perpetrator of the 3" -4" recommendation. It comes from my frustrations with test results that would bounce around too much each year. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that new nutrients at the upper levels of the soil tended to overstate nutrients, and lower levels of the soil tended to...

Re: Apologies for Late Start on Soil Interpretations

Sometimes things don't work out as planned. Additional apologies for causing a slowdown - I was involved in a moderately bad car crash (I'm OK) and I'm plowing through the incomplete interpretations now. I hope to get the Queue current in the next couple of days. Many, many thanks to Morph for carry...

Re: Nanakisaju Soil Sample 2

In the micro's, Boron is the only nutrient in short supply. Get Twenty Mule Team laundry soap from a grocery store, and apply at 3 tablespoons per 1000 sq ft every 60 days, as directed in the Micronutrient Application Guide.

Boron on both at the standard rate every 60 days, and maybe an optional Copper on the Lawn at standard rate.

And Jeez, would you put a little effort into the OM?

Boron is borderline - you can ignore it, or add 3 tablespoons/K for two apps, 60 days apart.

Apologies for Late Start on Soil Interpretations

Apologies to all that have submitted soil tests for interpretation and been waiting a bit - my vacation down in Key Largo was extended and I got involved in a reconstruction project down there (bathroom demo and replacement). Also completing 3-year project to add another floor to my son's house this...

Re: Prosperity KBG - where art thou?

This is generally pretty easy to figure out - contact the owner/research company (in this case, GOSEED) and call them on the phone. They know who was shipped the seed and contact them. A little googling and phoning will get you answers...

Re: Gwolf64's - 2022 Soil Test

Oh, great - I get to start off with a tricky, misleading set of test results... If you just looked at the test results and the minus signs, this does not look bad. But look closer and you see a single number invalidating everything else. Yup, a trap. The TEC number is at a level that means that the ...

We're well post the fifteenth. Andy may be delayed, may just need a tap to see this, or may have been eaten by a shark. Sharks don't bother me (professional courtesy). Really, I'm finishing up a big contract at Morgan Stanley today, and in "The Crunch". I'll be on this tomorrow. Weather here in Key...

Soil Test Interpretation Season Is Now Open

OK - it's that Time!!! We're now accepting soil test results to be interpreted. The North may still be frozen solid, but I'm hiding down in Key Largo and it certainly feels like Spring here, so let's declare things as ready to go. If you sent results too late last year, or too early this year, let's...
