Re: 'New' House old lawn Restoration 2020
Not to worry gentlemen. It was a 30 second experiment and I threw it on concrete. I'll bag it tonight.

Re: 'New' House old lawn Restoration 2020
I tried the de-thatching rake. Failure. It only removes about 60%.

Re: 'New' House old lawn Restoration 2020
As I become more familiar with what 'triv' looks like, it is everywhere in the rear 19k 'lawn'. I spotted a few patches in front. I started spraying them with round up yesterday. There is so much, I want to get an early start on it. The areas aren't to hard to spot because there are orangish red sta...

Re: 'New' House old lawn Restoration 2020
I have been reading up on 'the battle', and see how round up is used, and then reseed in the fall. But... I have a question. How effective is it to rip it out manually with a de-thatching rake and keep after it as it reappears? I used one on creeping charlie a few years ago and it was extremely effe...

Re: 'New' House old lawn Restoration 2020
As I become better acquainted with my new yard it seems that I have massive areas of Poa Trivialis. The rear lawn has lots of shade and probably stays damp most of the time.. I can't kill it all because I'll have erosion problems and there is way to much to dig up. I need some suggestions for a game...

Re: Dormant Overseeding
It looks great. I did some TTTF and KBG overseeding in January with good success as well.

Re: 'New' House old lawn Restoration 2020
Today I cracked open my new bottle of Quinclorac. I mixed it together. with tenacity. I have some areas of nimblewill and some crabgrass is sprouting. I thought I could hit both with one stroll through the yard. I mixed two gallons but should have mixed four. I'm hitting plantain and creeping charli...

Re: 'New' House old lawn Restoration 2020
I think I'm winning the weed battle. One month ago it took 22 gallons of Triclopyr to spot spray weeds. This week it took 8. The dandelions are gone, the chickweed withering, creeping Charlie turning brown, and plantains shriveling. I have been applying Milorganite/Milorganite imitation bag rate on ...

Thanks for the info on the wall. Where I live there are no rocks in the fields probably for 200 miles from here. it looks great. Here, we have to buy rocks.

Re: New to the forum, but lurked for years!
How old is the wall? Does winter freezing and thawing tear it up?

Can you show us the stone walls? I'm interested to see them from an architectural viewpoint.

Re: Robotic mower questions.
It seems to me that perhaps Husqavarna has the best models. I haven't been able to find much info from actual homeowners using them. I suspect that many lawn aficionados like running their machinery, such as zero turns etc. They enjoy the mechanics of it. That doesn't necessarily mean that robotics ...

Re: Masbustelo's 2020 Soil Test
Andy or anyone. In about a week I plan on applying the Stagreen rapid Gypsum from Lowes. The bag is hard to read and figure out the application rate. It says 'up to 5,000 sq. feet'. My question: Is the heavy rate one bag per 2,500 square feet?

Robotic mower questions.
Does anyone own a robotic mower? I'm curious if they do a good job of cutting? Or did someone use to have one and got rid of it because they didn't like it?

Re: Reminder: Time to Start Prepping for Summer
Is Quinclorac applied proactively, or at the first sign of crabgrass emergence?
