Re: Need Tree Suggestions
From the pictures above, I'd go with tall shrubs like arborvitaes. It'll give you some privacy from your neighbors as well. If you wanted some color, you could plant a Japanese maple or crepe myrtle on the corner.

Cut it low, do a blanket spray over the entire yard with Celcius, keep it cut low during the summer, and feed it with nitrogen every month. The bermuda will fill in.

I don't think Centipede would be that green while his Bermuda is still dormant.

Curious as to how you plan on keeping fescue alive in 120 degree summer heat? Why did you decide on fescue vs. a warm season grass?

Pictures of the areas you're talking about would be beneficial. It's hard for people to recommend something without seeing what you're dealing with.

Buy some PGR and you won't have to mow as much, while maintaining a low HOC.

Re: 2016 Vegetable Garden
She is having a problem with her squash (flowers?) rotting before they produce. Anyone know what she might be doing wrong, or steps that can be taken to fix this? I'll take a picture tonight when I get home if that'll help. Rotting or falling off? Squash and zucchini produce male and female blooms ...

Re: Maruyama Landscape Blade
I was playing in a golf tournament a couple of weeks ago and one of the guys on the maintenance crew was using one of these along the cart paths near the clubhouse. When I rode by him he never had to slow down, stop, or wait for me to pass, and I wasn't worried about flying debris as I rode by. I th...

That looks great rjr. Which picture has your sweet potatoes in it? I'd thought about growing sweet potatoes as well but wasn't sure how much room they would need and how much produce I would get from each plant.

Thanks Red. I've ordered the pro plugger. I have not been able to find the celcuis for less than $108 online. What stores might I be able to find it locally (around Atlanta?) I do not see a John Deere landscapes nearby. [ Post made via iPhone ] http://aroundtheyard.com/forums2/images/mobile/iPhone....

Re: New bermuda sod not looking so good
There's a lot of unknowns in your original post. 1. How old is the sod? 2. How long was it down before you started watering and fertilizing? 3. What have you done to it so far? Saying that you've properly watered and fertilized doesn't tell us much. Also, if it's sod, you don't need to overseed. Sod...

Last time I was in Lowes they had some 34-0-0. I didn't look at the bag so I don't know if it's slow release or fast release.

Hosta Question
I have a bed that gets very little sunlight, but it's mid-day sun (11:00 am to 1:00 pm). Will hostas grow in direct sunlight for a couple of hours of mid-day sun? If not, do y'all have any recommendations on low growing plants that will thrive in these conditions? I have 2 rhododendrons planted in t...
