Taking soil samples - question

I plan on doing a soil test to send to LL and i just had a few questions.

Taking the soil samples - Do i take one from the front yard and one from the back yard and mix them together? or do I keep the separate and label them as so? or should there be multiple samples from each area, if so do i keep them all separate? My front yard is approx 2,000sqft. and my back yard is approx. 9,000sqft.

My yard is mostly weeds at this time just recently bought the home and i plan on doing a full reno next fall.

You take 10-12 samples from an area that you want a report about, and mix them together.

If you want two reports (maybe Front and Back) then do 10-12 samples (mixed) from the Front, and 10-12 from the Back, and send them in separate bags.

Don't bother doing multiple tests if you're not willing to be executing separate Plans - that's just a waste of your money...

Nope - you only want the soil as outlined in the Sticky/FAQ on Soil Testing and sending to the right testing lab.

You only want the soil in the 3" to 4" band and submit to Logan Labs.

Interesting, thanks! I was just going by the Logan Lab instructions (which I now see we should ignore )
