Central VA, established 5,000 sq ft fescue lawn, clay soil.

This year I have put down some milorganite, soybean meal, composted chicken manure, added compost (part of lawn), and one application of BLSC. Spot sprayed for weeds in spring with Tenacity. Put down some milky spore powder last season and again this month which seems to help with grubs.

Last test was done in 2014 and interpreted here:

12 holes dug for samples at about 4", mixed together and sent to both Logan Labs and Virginia Tech.

That's a soil that is moving in the right direction. It's not quite finished yet, but it's getting there...

You've got a soil that is a touch on the sandy side and continued attention to the OM would help the OM% and the TEC. The OM is currently in transition from "mediocre" to "OK".

In the cations, the nutrients (Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium) are good. Stop with any Lime applications and potentially make an annual Gypsum application at 25 lbs/K.

Your Iron number is weaker than I like, and Ferrous Sulfate and/or regular Milorganite apps would help, at your pH.

In the micronutrients, only Boron is short. Apply three tablespoons/K every 60 days of Twenty Mule Team Laundry Soap as defined in the Micronutrient Application Guide.
