Billybob soil report back yard
I'm just starting to get the back in better shape.
Mostly TTTF, mulch mow all year along with many leaves each fall. Usually fertilize with milo couple times per year along with Urea as winterizer.
It's 10k sqft. I'm in process of renovating 2k sqft. I dropped the ball with pre emergents over past few years. So spot treating weeds/ crabgrass.
My goal is to get it back in shape. Kill weeds, dropped pre emergent on non renovation area with Dimension.15 w/13-0-7 fertilizer

Re: Billybob soil report back yard
You've got a very sandy soil there, with a mediocre OM level that isn't helping with the fight to hold onto your nutrients. Leaching is going to be an ongoing problem until the TEC is raised by increased organic matter -- apply all the free OM you can and add paid OM if that doesn't help.
While the cation numbers aren't that bad on paper, the bar is so low at that TEC that we have to bring that into play. Make a single 10 lb/K calcitic lime application this Fall and retest in the Spring if you can. If not, do no apply more lime until you do retest.
For the Phosphorus and Potassium, select a balanced fertilizer like 10-10-10 or 19-19-19 and post the NPK for application rates and frequency. It's likely that the frequency will be monthly. The Nitrogen essentially goes along for the free ride.
I'm changing my normal prescription for your Iron. Apply 3 lbs/K of Ferrous Sulfate every 60 days - you are short on both Iron and Sulfur, and those are the things that make Ferrous Sulfate.
In the micro’s, it’s only Boron. Get Twenty Mule Team Laundry Soap from the grocery and apply it at three tablespoons/K every 60 days. Read the Micronutrient Application Guide for application specifics.

Re: Billybob soil report back yard
This maybe a silly question but could Fe sulfate be apply with a spreader like a micro app or does it have to be applied by sprayer?

Re: Billybob soil report back yard
Andy's recommendation for ferrous sulfate at 3 lbs/K (your clue) is for a granular application, not a foliar spray application. He's targeting your soil. As such, yes, it is to be applied with a spreader but not in the same way as a micronutrients application. No carrier needed.
See, for example, Ferrous sulfate Monohydrate.

Gotcha.... the one I always buy for my FAS is very fine. Does anyone know where I can purchase a larger granular Fe sulfate?

Another thought is to check your local Home Depot this time of year - they are often trying to get rid of the Moss Control Granules cheap -- guess what they are?
