agn015 Spring 2019 Soil Test
Here are the results from my 4th soil test. Every year I'm amazed at how much visual improvement there is to both the soil and the plants. Thanks for all of the help!
I have about 12k sqft total of grass of KBG and TTTF. I mow as often as I can during the season, usually every 4-7 days depending on growth. I don't have in ground irrigation so I drag hoses and water as needed to provide a full inch of water; deeply and infrequently. Last year I was pushing a Philies spring regimen and had some small sections of powdery mildew and rust. I stopped pushing N and was able to keep up with apps of Serenade every 7-14 days so these diseases did not progress any further.
I'd like to continue improving the soil as much as possible to encourage my turf to thicken up and maintain overall health. There are still some thin areas that I am hoping will fill in this season. I would like to follow an advanced program and tackle the micros if needed.

Re: agn015 Spring 2019 Soil Test
Yeah, that looks like an improved Long Island soil. The TEC indicates a soil that's a bit below the level of a loam, and a touch sandy.
Stay away from any Lime - you're at the tipping point where Iron becomes unavailable if you go higher. You're also at the 10:1 Calcium:Magnesium ratio. You want to stop. You do need to locate Sulfate of Potash and apply it at 2 lbs/K monthly.
Phosphorus is quite plentiful - no need to deal with that - maybe forever.
The Iron is also just fine, but like I said, don't play with Lime, which can make it unavailable.
Stay with the Boron treatments - 3 tablespoons/K of Twenty Mule Team laundry soap as described in the Micronutrient Application Guide - every 60 days.
Stay the course - you're doing well !!

That’s great to hear Andy! I’ve never applied any lime so I’m happy to see the pH dropped a little. Maybe in a few more years it’ll drop a little more to ideal levels.
I’ll continue alternating bay state with urea and adding in organics as the budget allows. I already know where to get SOP so we’re good there.
I’ll stay the course for another year. Thank you so much for all of the help and guidance!
I have another soil test from my cousins house also on Long Island. Am I allowed to submit it now to have it interpreted while there is no queue? Or do I need to wait until busy season is over on May 15?

Sorry, nope! Have him create an account, and I'll be happy to help. When the queue is empty, I handle all that's waiting...
