Compost Dressing

Post by JHazzardB » September 20th, 2019, 8:12 pm

I tried searching but didn't find too much...

If you top dress with compost, does it affect the soil level height in the long term? It doesn't act the same as sand topping or topsoil, right?

I feel like someone was talking about adding 4" of compost around some magnolias at one point and by the end of the season, it was back to flat. I really should know these things by now.

Compost will continue to break down until it is humus, so it won't really affect soil level.
