Soil Testing Question

Post by CVette » June 2nd, 2020, 1:08 pm

I'm using Logan Labs and have used them in the past for my soil tests. Previously I had shipped the sample out 1-2 days after I took it. This year it's been 2 weeks since I took the sample but haven't shipped it yet. Do I need to take a new sample or is the one I have still good? I didn't know if the organic matter or anything else changes. Maybe it's a silly question but I figured it was still worth asking to be sure.

It's fine! I've forgo...extended my drying time...for up to a month before sending it. If you were to send a wet sample, they'd rack it and dry it for you.
While this might impact nitrogen results if you were having those tested (ammonium can get lost to the air, but that would happen anyway), assuming you're having the standard test, nothing you're having done there will be impacted.
