Bryan K Soil Sample Spring 2021
Here are the results of my recent soil analysis. Please focus on the Front as this is the main lawn of focus. If time permits, analysis of the side/back would be great.
The front yard received a full renovation in the Fall of 2019 after several years of neglect. It is ~13K sqft, moderately sloped, seeded with a sun and shade mix of PRG, FF ad KBG. The lawn is irrigated and sees moderate foot traffic and heavy dog traffic/urine. It gets decent sun with some sections a bit more shade than others.
I posted for soil analysis last year and followed the program. I did struggle with nitrogen stripes as my spreader is a bit uneven when laying down nutrients with with the slope of the yard. Urea deposition was a bit challenging to keep consistent, though I will go up and down the slope this year to try to even this out. I did not apply a Fall PreM and I do have some winter weeds popping up. Grass is just starting to wake up. I have some spots/sections that will need work in the fall as they are bare from people playing fetch with the hounds in muddy wet grass, so Spring PreM will need to account for a fall overseed/powerseeding.
Id like to stay away from urea this year, and have a ton of Baystate waiting for me to pick up later this week.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts for 2021.
Many Thanks!
Bryan

Re: Bryan K Soil Sample Spring 2021
Wow - a very sandy soil with a high OM%. I can't imagine what the TEC would be if the OM% were low!!! Even though you're in the "great" category, I'd recommend adding more if you can - that's really the only way to lift that TEC.
In the cations, let's go with 9 lbs/K of good calcitic Lime (Encap/Mag-I-Cal/SoluCal) mixed with 2 lbs/K of Epsom Salt added. Repeat every 90 days. Apply at 11 lbs/K.
Apply 2 lbs/K of Sulfate of Potash ("SOP") monthly - it may look like that is OK, but the bar is very low due to the low TEC.
Phosphorus is plentiful.
Iron is a tad low, but let's concentrate on the cations this year - the Iron is not low enough to exhibit color problems.
In the micro's, Boron and Zinc could use work. Do you want to address those this year?
Nitrogen coming from the Bay State will work well on your lawn/soil.
You're welcome to add a link pointing here for the other lawns when things quiet down a bit. We'd be happy to offer a look...

Thanks Andy.
Yes, I'll tackle macros, micros and cations.
Feel free to point me in the right direction.
Best,
Bryan

In the micro's, get Twenty Mule Team laundry Soap (for Boron) from the grocery and Zinc Sulfate from Ebay/Amazon. apply 3 tablespoons each every 60 days as outlined in the Micronutrient Application Guide.

Much like last year, plus the addition of Zinc.
Should be easy enough.
Thanks!

Re: Bryan K Soil Sample Spring 2021
Bryan, sorry about the delay - your request got lost in the transition from busy season...
In the Back, skip the Calcium and Epsom Salt, but add the SOP as you did in the Front.
Phosphorus is good, as is Iron.
Add Boron in the Back as in the Front.
Use Bay State for Nitrogen.
In the Side Yard, use Calcium and Epsom Salts as in the Front. Add Boron in the Side as in the Front. Bay State goes down for Nitrogen too.
That should do it !!!
