Gyrd,

The folks analyzing soil tests here (I’m clearly not one of them) only work with tests from Logan Labs. That’s been the case for many years.

Perhaps someone else might take a crack at it though.

Yeah, I'd recommend a retest through Logan. While not internally inconsistent, the test is a bit limited. I don't have a good internal rulebook for UMass any longer and, although I could read this, my read wouldn't be anywhere near as good as for Logan.

Morph,
Can you give it a shot?

I'm rolling both onto this thread. First, your full name and addy appears on the form. You'll want to break that link right after the read.

This is going to be very basic because I don't trust the minor or micro reads and have doubts about the majors. So I'm going gentle, and on the low side. You'll need one thing--fast calcitic lime. You know the drill by now.

For the front, let's go with 7 pounds per thousand square feet. For the back, 3 pounds per thousand square feet. Once, no repeat. I couldn't fold in a second this year no matter who you'd tested with anyway.

Next spring, retest with Logan Labs.
