Call around to a local nursery. Looks like this - http://www.starnursery.com/show_details ... oduct=2432

PS - Boraxo is dry pumice like, powder hand cleaner

You might even have some at work!
Thanks I just googled and found that manganese sulfate on that site. I will stop by my local nursery tomorrow....

Yup - that's the best source for smaller amounts of Manganese Sulfate, even though 5-lbs is a lifetime supply. I think you'll spend about six bucks for it. I had a bag and was going to send you some, but I can't find it.

About the Boraxo --- you can use Arm and Hammer 20 Mule Team Natural Laundry Booster instead, at the same amounts I specified above. Or, you could go to the Rite-Aid, CVS, etc and get Boric Acid (its a white powder). If you use the Boric Acid, lower the amount by a third (one and three quarters tablespoons instead of two and a half tablespoons) for 2500 sq ft, mixed very well into Milorganite.

Boric acid is about $6 per pound when sold as a cockroach poison at HD, Lowe's, or Ace. I might add that it's the only thing that works reliably against roaches so if you have roaches you probably already have boric acid.

Hey KOG,

That looks great. Give it another month and it will really start to fill in nicely.

That's really looking much better and you should be completely pleased! Plus, with the 20 Mule Team Borax, you'll have the whitest whites you've ever seen when they come out of the dryer. It really brightens colors, too.

Can you see much of the test patch any longer?

I can. Look at 4 O'clock.

Test section is really starting to blend in with the rest of the lawn now. What a major difference!

I can make out the Test Patch. I think that the surrounding grass is just as healthy now, and the difference is the amount of time that the grass areas have been healthy. I'm betting that the Test Patch will "lead" the progress of the other areas for another month, and then become indistinguishable.

Nice job, KOG.

yup the test patch is still visible but fading into the grass, I don`t no if the test area is getting lighter or the KBG is getting darker !! I dropped a little more milogranite yesterday

Thank you very much Andy, i guess I just needed some patience.... A tablespoon of this and that did me wonders. My next issue is what we think is Poa, I will get much better pictures and we could analyze them until the cows come home!! I`ll try to post them ASAP!! Thank for your help :good:

KOG:

Be proud - you did Good!!! :clapping:

I thought that I had escaped the Poa, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

As the KBG darkens and the Poa goes to seed, it is very obvious to me that I have lots of Poa in my renovation too. Interestingly, it is heaviest just outside of the drip line (edge of the canopy) of Bertha, the giant Norway Maple. Again, I'm trying to sell patience instead of running for the chemicals. I'll let it finish its cycle and use a Pre-M in September to stop next year's crop.

I've renamed my lawn the "Poa Plantation". If you can't beat it, laugh at it. :rotfl:

Interesting, I have a very big swath of poa or something along one side of the dripline of my monster Norway maple tree too

I am going to celebrate once I've passed the point of being better than the lawn I destroyed to build the new one.

I love this picture!

Years ago, I could go to the barber and get a hair cut that looked just like that, LOL!

KOG I was wondering, do you see that blue sparkle in person, like we see in the picture?

I remember you wanted "just a hint" of sparkle from Bedazzled, when Bestlawn was composing your blend for you. Are you seeing that now yet?

High and tight just like my head!!LOL

Yup, I sure do ! Really notice the blue sparkle in early morning and in the evening looking across the lawn from the garage. It really depends on the angle of the sun and if the lawn was recently mowed.

FWIW ,I`m hanging the roller up for the season and gonna use the Zamboni method! No more lines for me!
