I did...and tried all the things suggested; but I guess I'll keep digging, if no one has the easy fix.

Thanks

Oh; sorry. Can you PM me?

I am proxy-blocked, and there is absolutely no malfeasance going on here.

Back from the banished! :)

For the record; it was VMWare...that I used for my previous job.

Now...on to the lawn advice. Thanks for the help TT.

OK...so; after being "scolded" by you guys. I took a step back, and decided you were right; at least those of you, who advocated KISS...and not over-thinking the situation. After all: I'm still not going, for the best lawn on the forum...or even my neighborhood. After some early success; I'm happy, just to have a good-looking, healthy yard...with a medium amount of effort.

As Summer came...I got some Weed & Feed down (push broadcaster, which is certainly better than the tractor one; but still left some "burnt" spots); and had planned a round of Turf Builder...but was too late.

Summer has been the epitome, of KISS and common-sense lawn-care. Mow once a week, water "deep" and infrequent. But; I have a scourge. This is Crabgrass, yes?

If so; as you can see...it is thick, and it is abundant! As we head into Fall care...what can I do, do rid myself of this vileness?

I was already planning to...Milorganite, Milorganite, Milorganite! Over-seed, and top-soil. What else?

Thanks

Did you apply any pre-M this year?

Yikes! It can be tough to KISS without pre-M down when you have that kind of crabgrass pressure.

Yup; guess I kept it too simple. No pre-m.

OK...when can I start dropping Milorganite? My soil is sh*t; I need all the nutrients I can get.

Then...topsoil, over-seed; change water patterns. I can start that...mid-Sept, here in the Mid-Atlantic?

And...pre-m goes down last; for next season, yes?

Thanks

Pre-M goes down in the spring - when the forsythia are blooming (bright yellow). If you can buy granular, something with Dimension as the preventer. Often it is pre-mixed with fertilizer like http://www.homedepot.com/p/LESCO-50-lb- ... /100185665 or Greenview producdts typically use Dithylor(Dimension) (sp?), but often at SiteOne or local landscape supply shops (JDL, etc) they have it without, which is nice since you can put it down at a good heavy rate without super fertilizing at the same time. Often will be 0-0-7 or 0-0-8 , but seems harder to find around me.

Scotts Halts or Vigaro Crabgrass preventers use 'pendimethalin', which is another readily available option.

Milorganite anytime grass is growing!

GOod thing with Crabgrass...it dies with frost/winter... so you get a clean slate each year! Each year you get a good crabgrass control down, you will have less and less. Plus helps with other weeds.

There are plenty of weed killers these days that also are listed for Crabgrass killing - with the ingredient Quinclorac - typically will be a 'broadleaf weed and crabgrass killer' , can be effective... I don't have muuch experience with it on mature plants.

OK, sorry; just trying to get my Fall game-plan straight.

I just sprayed for crabgrass (I used Bayer All-In-One Lawn Weed & Crabgrass Killer), about a week ago; and as many of you know...we've had a good bit of rain, here in the Mid-Atl.

I'd like to do another round of Bayer...and it says I can wait 2 weeks.

Milorganite anytime; I don't need to adjust, based on the spraying?

And then how long, after my 2nd spraying of Bayer...can I seed?

Then...water, water, water; and I was going to try this...right before "Winter" http://www.scotts.com/smg/goprod/turf-b ... prod100052?&

Then, of course; I'll pre-M, in the Spring.

Thanks

Label says 4 weeks after spraying. You can't be serious.

"Bare spots may be seeded, after 4 weeks".

I did see that; but I guess I wasn't thinking...4 weeks to re-seed, the whole lawn (though, of course...it makes sense).

OK...so I skip the second spraying; wait 3 weeks, and seed.

I can dump as much Milorganite as I want still, right? And 9/25...isn't too terribly late, to get seed down.
