Nclawnguy, there's a vast contrast between your lawn and your neighbors across from you.

Current issues are some annua, more in the side yard. Ive treated with tenacity, 3 apps so far, annua is bleached and sending up seed heads now.

What is your tenacity regimen for annua as far as mix and frequency, if you dont mind? I have always had issues getting annua to bleach but i think i was hitting it too hard and not frequent enough. I'm going to go light and frequent this spring.

Thanks, yeah I was looking the big league roller prices for the larger mowers...not cheap. I thought you had a striper/roller on your mower? If your lawn mower stripes like that without a roller, it's going to be stupid nice with one. Wow.Othertime wrote:daaaaaaaaaaang!!! Looking great NC. making me thing hard about a roller, sad thing is the big league roller for my mower is like $350 bucks. I have a 48" mower.

The house diagonal from me with the dormant looking lawn has mostly common bermuda. The guy directly across the street has tttf, he does a pretty good job taking care of his, his is just waking up now.Tony alony wrote:Nclawnguy, there's a vast contrast between your lawn and your neighbors across from you.

Re: nclawnguy's 2014 renovation - Spring pics 3/23
Low rate, like 1.5 ml/k every 5-7 days. This worked great last year as I got around a 70-80% kill, the rest died off in May when temps get up and drier weather sets in. I first do a blanket app of .25-.33 ml/k across the whole lawn, this will highlight all the undesirables. I then can spot spray. Just got to be careful not to go over the max limit on tenacity, record every time you apply and how much. Keep in mind when the annua starts to stress it will send up seed heads, I mow with the bag on during this time.slash8118 wrote: What is your tenacity regimen for annua as far as mix and frequency, if you dont mind? I have hit mine @ 2oz/Acre rate on 3/15 and 3/21 so far. No bleaching yet. I think i might move to every 3 days to try to get it to bleachnclawnguy wrote:Low rate, like 1.5 ml/k every 5-7 days. nclawnguy, I formally nominate your lawn as one to be included on the slide show of the main page on this website. Awesome work!! We've all followed your work. The fact that you even switched to a different cultivar is even more impressive. Wish I were in your shoes. All I have to work with is the ditch weed, St. Augustine.

Lookin very nice
How come the roller doesn't overrule the wheel mark? Either way looks pretty cool even with the gap. It makes the stripes pop a little more I think.HoosierLawnGnome wrote:Btw I get that little gap on the edge of my stripe too...... annoys me......

Honesty, it doesn't even bother me one bit. I am so happy to find a good quality striper/roller for my 21" walk behind.HoosierLawnGnome wrote:Btw I get that little gap on the edge of my stripe too...... annoys me......

Noticed some dry and thirsty spots this afternoon. Took the garden hose and hit the spots. Will probably run the irrigation tomorrow morning. Its been very dry and windy last few days, we've been under fire warning.
75 today and in the 80's this week. Leaving for trip to connecticut Wednesday.

Re: nclawnguy's 2014 renovation - Spring pics 4/3
I just checked the weather forcast, good chances for rain next 2 days. Will try to hold off watering and see what we get for rain. Whatever we get I'll top off with the irrigation to get 1 inch. Really don't want to water too much, want to get the roots to go deep. But with a new lawn, don't want to stress it plus I'm going away for 5 days.

To be expected, new lawns suck in the drought resistance category. From my experience if you can get past the first summer the rest will be much better.Eck wrote:My reno is browning in the sunny areas. Eager for that rain to get here!

Also its not the heat to watch for, its these dry warm and windy days. Soils will dry out much faster in these types of situations that 85 and humid.
