Yeah - except there is no guarantee that your last drop won't get consumed and turned into top growth.

And usually does.

Once your neigbhors' TTTF / Bermuda lawns go dormant, that color difference is going to be CRAZY.

I've been wanting to get one for a few years. Very happy with the quality of the product, built solid.

Geez... I look at the months fly by on that, and I'm noticing that your post season is almost as long as my entire season. I need to move south a zone or two.

Summers will suck for cool season grass, but you do get a much longer growing season. Lawn usually never goes dormant in the winter.

NC, that look absolutely amazing! I agree with you about the longer growing season. Is yours still growing? And have you raised your mowing height or is it just filling in and getting denser?

See, my grass looks "bad" for three months - just in the cold ones - not the warm ones. Of course, it isn't dying in the winter - just dormant.
So, I wonder - as long as you can keep it from getting obliterated by heat or fungi - if you can keep it looking nicer for more of the year than we can up north?

Yeah in warmer climates you get prime time root growth and fill in potential ("fall/spring") for the better part 6-7months!
But I don't envy folks that have a long hot summer and have to worry about summer patch and such... I like when the 90degree weather shows up for a few days...and then is gone for a week or three.

Yes still growing, slowing down now. Still mowing once a week. Haven't raised the blade, still at 1.75". Getting very thick, can't wait until spring when it explodes.

Yes, you can have a extremely nice cool season lawn year round down here. I was able to keep my tttf looking pretty darn good year round. I'll see how kbg it compares to tttf this coming season. I will be applying fungicides just like I did with tttf, should be able to keep disease mostly in check. My yard is small and I now have an irrigation system, so not too worried about that part. I am really looking forward to seeing how kbg does compared to tttf. Fun times ahead.

What's your take on the color difference (if any) between your TTTF last year and KBG this fall?

Though call, my tttf was much more matured. I would say the kbg is a bit darker also a nicer shade of green than tttf. My front kbg looks a ton better than my tttf back yard right now in late December.

Any thoughts on winterizer? My lawn growth is pretty slow at this point, including the KBG strip.

I just dropped scotts winterguard a few days ago. Growth won't completely stop, but its slowed down enough. Based on previous years there is a good chance my lawn won't completely go dormant. I usually drop my final synthetic N right around Christmas.

Yeah, definitely tricky. We jut got a ton of rain at the beginning of the week. I will look it over and make a decision Sunday. I may hold of a week or two, but it probably doesn't matter much.
