BoatDrinks, thank you for your reply and I apologize for my tardy response.

I agree with you on the seed now that I think about it. Ordering 2 seeds from one place pre-mixed might be just fine for an overseed into an already semi-established lawn. I have a large spot in my lawn that was sodded that needs to be overseeded (wouldn't you know the sod sucks). I also have a few places that are very patchy since the annual rye was so dense early on.

As far as feeding aggressively... I am just finishing my first 25 bags of Milorganite for the summer and will be getting me second batch very soon. Fortunately and unfortunately I have 12,000 sq feet of lawn so applying 1 yard/1000 of compost which Andy recommended after seeing my soil test is easier said than done. I'll see if I can find some high school kid to do the dirty work for me and have 12 yards delivered this fall. I typically always feed fairly aggressively in the fall and this year will be no exception. I have to say that I can't even believe how fast it's filled in over the past few weeks even though it's late June/July!

Maybe in the next few months the lawn will be ready for some pictures.

I got prosperity from them, are they just out or is Kingfisher a version of Prosperity?

Hey all, following up on the above posts. The annual rye idea ended up working out great. Once it met some summer heat it died in a hurry and the Kentucky Blue took over. It took most of year one to thicken up, especially in the back where I have more shade but it has really done well, especially considering the constant weed pressure from my woods and natural fescue areas around my big hill and volleyball court in the back. Here are some pictures of how things ended up.
