My seeded areas (Feb 27th) have looked like this for almost 3 weeks now. Finally starting to see a small amount of growth in the sunniest areas.

I did some dormant seeding on my Fall 2016 reno. To be honest I don't think it did anything. The heavy rains likely washed the seed away this spring. I ended up spot seeding areas. Many members warned me that dormant seeding isn't very effective but I thought it was worth a shot since it's as simple as broadcasting seed. But I probably just threw money away...

Your experience is way too common.

I didn't have much bad luck with my dormant seed... it's not over yet though, the struggle with disease and heat is coming.

Andy, you can say "I told you so"... since you did tell me.

I am pretty happy with my reno so far though. Except for the annual rye infestation it's otherwise the best yard on the block.
