Planning to after work today! Should I stay on the same 2x a day watering schedule? Weather has cleared and is supposed to be mid 70s for the indefinite future dipping into the 50s at night.

Thankful I didn't reseed Monday or Tuesday, as this was my front yard last night

Glad you didn't either. Is that much runoff typical?

:o Wow.
This is where it gets a little tricky. For the most part, that bare area needs 3X a day. Just enough to keep the seed moist. But you're going to have to watch the other spots and keep an eye out for fungus. Set your watering schedule for ~10:30, 1:30, and 4. It will be damp most mornings so that helps.
No Tenacity. You've used up your allotment for the year. :blackeye:

Let me know when you're ready to practice using that backpack sprayer.

No, definitely not typical. We got an inch of rain in about 45 minutes yesterday afternoon.

Sounds like a plan. I'm planning to seed the bare areas at 6-8 lbs/k. What should be the rate for the thin areas that's not completely bare?

3-4 pounds. You may want to go heavier on areas that do not have much grass. Just be careful not to over do it. Go at the 3-4lb rate then eye ball it.

Well, seed is out. Spread 4 lbs/k over the entire Reno, with an extra 3 lbs/k in the bare spots.

My timer will only let me water every 4 hours instead of a custom schedule, so here's where I've got it set: 9 AM, 1 PM, 5 PM for 6-7 minutes per zone.

Seeing germination on day 6 after reseeding the bare areas. Hoping for fast establishment now :good:

Dude, I feel your pain right now. Not looking good for us this weekend. Here's to hoping nothing washes out for you. I'm most likely going to be putting netting down on my banks to minimize any washouts.

Hang in there! I'm paying close attention to the hurricane tracking daily. Hopefully it continues to track further east and doesn't effect the Carolinas... waiting and watching now.

Advice needed: 2 questions related to managing seedlings and 50 day old TTTF

-I've got germination at this point with the new seeding. What should my watering schedule look like now? I'm currently watering for 5-6 minutes per zone, every 4 hours starting at 8 AM.

-The maturing TTTF is reaching 5" tall (close to 6" in a few spots). The seedlings are 1 day old. How do I manage cutting the grass without damaging the overseed? I guess my question is this: How tall can the TTTF get before it is doing more harm to the existing grass than the risk of damaging seedlings, and when is it absolutely necessary to cut it?

Try to keep the watering schedule for at least another week. You still have seedlings coming up. After that move to once a day.

You need to learn how to "hover mow". It's the art of mowing without stepping on the new seedlings. :rotfl: Mow only what needs cut and watch where you step. Cut ~ 2.5". You're going to cut more than a third but that's ok for now. Just don't make it a habit. Bag mow so you don't smother the new grass.

I can handle both of those :good: Thanks for the quick reply Georgia

Looking fairly uniform. There's a spot roughly 50 sq. ft. That doesn't have as much germination, but the seed is still on the ground. Hoping it's just lagging behind a day or two

Check to see how much water it's getting. If the coverage is equal. There could be underlining problems that you can address next year.
