I didn't see anything about the prevention of fescue germination discussed? I know I applied too heavy of a dose, but after the grass died would it prevent germination of new seeds 2-3 weeks later?

I don't think it would prevent germination. What makes you think that those newly germinated seedlings would be able to handle that much Tenacity if the older seedlings couldn't?

I have no idea. That's what I'm trying to ask. I can't figure out why there's the one area with little germination, when it gets the same amount of water/sun as the rest of the yard. I didn't have an issue here the first go round. Would the effects of tenacity carry over for 3 weeks and create issues now on a second seeding? Still new to this...

Would an over application of tenacity prevent germination of TTTF?
In my opinion, yes.
Now I base my opinion on my experience with Tenacity and fescue. A few years ago I was mixing up a batch for the front yard kbg. I mixed it at 1.25tspn/2gal. Mature kbg can take a heavier dose. I got distracted and when I came back to the sprayer. I decided to spray the back yard fescue first.
What happened is, it killed the fine fescue and thinned out the tttf. I think some cultivars are more susceptible to Tenacity than others(IMHO). It definitely put a hurtin' on the fescue. Now considering you applied 9oz/A over a matter of a few weeks.....
It could well be spring before you can get anything to grow there(IMO).

Great...
Thanks for the info! That's honestly what I think is going on, but I'm a newbie so discount my opinion.

I edited my post above. I use 1.25 tspn/2gal on the kbg. I use .8tspn/2gal on the fescue. I don't want to make the same mistake twice.

Filling in nicely, even the bare spots from early in the week are coming in now. I'm gonna have to cut the original seeded area this afternoon, so I'll snap some pictures when I'm doing it. My newly germinated areas are 10-11 days old now, and roughly 3" in height. I don't think it will hurt to take the top off of those at the same time. Watering has been cut to once a day all week, so the grounds not soggy like before. Thoughts before I do it?

If your blade is sharp, You should be fine cutting it. Cut back your watering to twice a week. Time to make those roots dig deeper for water. Good job.

Thanks Georgia! Wouldn't have any success if not for your advice, along with a few others on ATY.

Question on Fertilizer. In my soil test thread, it was recommended that I put down starter fertilizer in August, September and October. For my Reno, it was also advised to use Milorganite monthly at bag rate during the growing season.
I used Scotts starter with Meso on August 20th, Milorganite on August 20th and Milorganite on September 18th.
What should my fertilizer schedule look like for the remainder of the year? In my part of NC, the growing season can be rather extended.

Unless I hear anything telling me otherwise, I'm planning to apply another round of starter fertilizer tomorrow. I applied the first app on August 20th. Have used Milo twice since initial seed down, but no other synthetics. Will follow the advice of my initial soil test. Any other thoughts?

We're still growing
Actually getting ready to cut it once the dew dries off this morning. I didn't fertilize last weekend, probably going to use Lesco starter on it today. I'll post a few pictures after lunch.

*Edit- how do I upload pictures now that post image is gone?
Several posts here to capture multiple pictures.
Status Update: 32 days since the latest reseeding. Have not applied any fertilizer in 45 days, so I put out Lesco 18-24-12 at 4 lbs/k this morning after I cut it. Still cutting at 2.5". Highs are still in the upper 70s, lows in the upper 40s and projected to stay there for at least 10 more days. Looking like first frost won't be until around Thanksgiving right now.
I did install exterior low voltage accent lighting to increase curb appeal as well. Finally starting to consider landscaping changes as well, but establishing the lawn is top priority at the moment.

When do you guys think it would be safe to put the push mower away and use my 48" ZTR? Wait until spring, or is it safe now?
