Great job! If you notice a guy with a sod cutter and a trailer don't mind him.

I was curious if you had much rust going into the pause last fall and how much if any of the grass did you lose over winter?

Thanks

No rust at all going into the pause last fall. I had a few very small areas about 3 inches in diameter that were brown coming out of the winter, but all gone now. Came out of the snow pack with flying colors.

Hi Paul, I bookmarked this thread as I plan to renovate 5ksqft using a Bewitched monostand this season. Thank you for the detailed posts of your progress and applications. For my previous renovations (~3ksqft) I always hand seeded and hand spread the peat moss. It was long and arduous but it produced good results. Would you recommend the peat moss spreader? I am not looking forward to hand spreading 5ksqft of peat moss :nea:

CVette, yes I would recommend a peat moss spreader since it can be used later on if you want to add compost to your yard at a later date to add organic material. If you plan on using it only once and you have 5K sqft, then I would have to re think it. If you can rent one, that would be the best way to go. It definitely lays down a nice even layer and it's quick.

Yeah, I looked and no rentals nearby. Any chance you're in western MA and want to rent yours out? I'd PM you but apparently it was disabled.

CVette, you'd better watch out -- I'm stalking your area. I was in Latham all day, had dinner Monday in Clifton Park (Angelo's Prime Grille) and I'm currently hanging out in Ballston Spa/Malta.

I'm watching!

We'll do a visit sometime this Summer or early Fall. I'm now beginning to split my time between Latham and Buffalo. I don't care to stay too close to the airport area, and I like it up in Malta. We'll figure something out!

When you did your tenacity blitz this spring what was your interval? Week, 10 days? How'd it work out?

Thanks

I did three applications weekly for a total of 2 weeks, May 1st, 8th, and 15th. It worked out great for the Poa Annua, it basically killed all of it. The first two applications were a blanket sprays to the entire yard and the third was only the areas that where white. If your willing to have your lawn look bad for about a month, it's worth it. Some pictures of what the bleaching looked like.

Weird, when I hit my Poa Annua with 3 apps of Tenacity last fall it bleached it a little the first time and then the second and third applications did nothing and it all survived.

That bleaching is satisfying to me, look like poa annua death, which brings a smile to my face. I've been practicing my tenacity blizting on the nimblewill in my backyard salad bar. I know I'm going to need to have my skills honed for next spring with all the poa annua I had this spring.

Keep in mind that temperature plays a role with Tenacity and Poa Annua. See attached article.

How's the lawn doing these days? I read one of your posts saying Bewitched has it's limits with shade. Any pics on areas that only get 1-2 hours sun? I'm curious about density and how Bewitched fares in deeper shade areas.

Doing very well. I will submit some pictures once the Tenacity whitening calms down. I have one area next to my garage that gets very little sun and I'm thinking of planting Hostas there.

Awesome, thanks. If you could post pics of that problem area that would be great as well. How little sun does it get?
