Re: Zareth's 2016 Front Yard Reno! (TTTF/KBG) Day 56 urea over :(
Day 59
I still have fat fat grubs
Pushing little holes everywhere.
There is a large area that keeps appearing drought stressed and I can find several grub holes in that area so I've been watering it extra..
I don't want to reapply Dylox in November but they're obviously active right now.
It's probably compounded by being next to a silver or red maple or a hybrid or something.
Does anyone have suggestions for a tree no wider than 40 ft with deep roots that don't bugger up lawns?
Putting lime down soon.. Last urea was on Oct 30
Also need to do another tenacity and triclopyr dose.. Not sure the best schedule for this

Re: Zareth's 2016 Front Yard Reno! (TTTF/KBG) Day 60 - Tenacity pt 2
Sprayed Tenacity and Triclopyr today - .5 tsp tenacity .667 oz triclopyr / k - never saw any bleaching after 14 days with the first batch.
Weeds did shrivel up and most of them are gone or atleast not growing anymore so they have been hidden by new grass.
I made a mistake though and forgot to shake up the tank and the first spray that came out seemed a bit strong so I may have nuked one area and then under treated the rest.. we'll see..

SPRING UPDATE!
Or its winter but its been so warm here I've mowed my yard 4 times this month.
Its been 163 days since seed down. I am about to get my soil samples ready for this year.
Winter here in TN lasted about a month and has been bouncing between 40-65 degrees since then.
Its 75 degrees today!
Anyway I'm sure my entire lawn will die this summer but I wont make the mistake of applying any Nitrogen this spring like I did last year and I'll irrigate properly and have my Fungicides READY!
I'm already mowing at 3 inches even though I like the shorter look better - Its all about the roots for me.

Thank you! I took soil samples today so I'm very excited to see if my numbers changed at all.HoosierLawnGnome wrote: ↑February 22nd, 2017, 1:51 pmLooking very nice! Can't wait for greenup further north!
Some of my cores have some really nice soil for the first 2 inches
Then it gets weird below that lol.
But I have roots all the way to 6 inches in the cores I took too deep.
So that's exciting.
Mowed again today

I hear ya. I dread putting them up and taking them down, glad my wife likes doing it.

Man it did GREAT, up until about a week ago.probasesteal wrote: ↑August 7th, 2017, 3:41 pmZareth,

I went on vacation and I didn't water it for 9 days.
When I got back I have some dormant patches.
I started on the Milorganite and I'll be going with Urea in about a week or two..
The patches are small and when I look I can see baby shoots sprouting up so I think it'll make a full recovery.

I think you are in good shape. May just have more Midnight next year than TTTF.
