Re: JG LI's new house seeding...
Will try to post some in a day or two.
I put down a PGR before 7/4 as I was going away, but it was a mistake as it slowed down top growth way too much and I've got a modest outbreak of dollar spot that I'm trying to get the lawn to grow out of (with some Companion and Serenade sprays and some Miloganite).

How is the DeLea soil to work with?

Re: JG LI's new house seeding...
The soil is awesome. Every time I plant a shrub I save soil in a container. It's amazing how well the pants and grass can take root in it. You can dig a hole with your hand like make a sand castle at the beach, but it holds together nicely (probably due to the Dakota pray). OM could be higher but that will happen over time.
The roots on my very young lawn are already deeper than my 5 year old lawn at my old place.

Will post some new ones soon; lawn isn't looking as good but the beds/plants look much, much better.

Re: JG LI's new house seeding...
jg, looking good overall. That browning looks very familiar. I get hit with the same crap every year in random spots. Have you figured out what it is causing it?

Re: JG LI's new house seeding...
I think its Dollar Spot that was exacerbated by the PGR I put down about 3 weeks ago. It should be wearing off soon. In the areas with more sun there is virtually nothing.

Re: JG LI's new house seeding...
Thanks for posting reality rather than only glamour shots. It gives us that are new to all kbg lawns at least some sort of reference point for summer stress on a first year lawn.

Re: JG LI's new house seeding...
sure thing. i expect that if I had had more time and was able to keep up with a pro-active biofungicide regimen there would be a lot less dollar spot (or whatever it is), and the PGR definitely exacerbated it. I think bernstem noted a similar issue a few years ago.
I was conditioned by my Blueberry and was afraid of massive growth when we left on vacation. Bewitched is a much more moderate grower. Combine that with a new/young lawn. I also used a solid/heavy dose of PGR. Probably should have used a 1/2 dose.

Re: JG LI's new house seeding...
Thanks for the update and your insight. I think the results are excellent considering it was a late season seeding and it's first birthday is over a couple of months away...not to mention, we're hitting the dog days of summer. Did you modify your typical summer watering pattern with the immature lawn or any other adjustments to baby it along?
Thank you.
Thank you.
