2017 TTTF backyard reno 25K sqft
So I figured I would make a thread for my backyard. Did my front yard this past fall and had pretty good results after a flare up of poa in the winter. Told myself if I could get it to stay alive in the summer I would do the backyard. It has done better than I imagined with the heat and lack of rain here lately. So I sprayed the backyard with glypho a couple days ago and will document the process each time I do something.

I'm actually thinking about using 2 rain trains with 150 ft hoses.

I had really good luck using titan rx in my front yard last fall so I'm going to go with that again. Probably do about 200 lbs Labor Day. And then another 200 2-3 weeks later.

That's 16 lbs/K. Is there a reason for needing such a high rate? Typical seeding rate for TTTF is 6-8 lbs/K.

Well to be honest I'm hoping to not have to need to drop the second batch. If I get lucky and have no washout. But last year we got over a foot of rain as soon as I seeded and I had a ton wash away so I'm planning for the same.

they sod new developments bermuda around here and 95% aren't taken care of and the 5% that are taken care of I'm still not impressed by as far as looks compared to Fescue and they are brown for 9 months. The few yards that are the best looking around here and taken care of are fescue. And honestly I was surprised how well mine hung in this summer. I had to bust out the sprinkler a few times in July between rains but not bad at all.

Re: 2017 TTTF backyard reno 25K sqft
Also heavily aerated my front yard that got a hard hit from disease in middle of august. I messed up and used the same fungicide the whole summer instead of rotating. Was using eagle and finally got an app of patchpro down after i noticed the damage. It happened super fast! Sucks but whatever I seeded that area and I will not be making that mistake this time.
