What did you feed with? Did you use starter at drop time?

Day 28 and had first mowing at 2.5 inches. I’d say about 25% of lawn got a haircut.

I had to fix the edge where they expanded my driveway and I gently removed top of the straw blankets and managed to not have any damage to the grass.

I’m now watering once every other day plus the rain we’ve had and seems to work well.

Day 35. Mowed yesterday and maybe slightly more than half of the yard was tall enough it get a trim.

Grass is growing the tallest in the areas I had seeding mats.

I’ll give it another half bag rate feeding next weekend. Getting great spread. No real weed pressure except like my entire yard I have some nutsedge I’ll have to kill next spring. Obviously all the loam the builder used had sedge in it so it’s pretty much dotted around my lawn.

Should I put down some dimension now? I’ve usually done it in spring but would like to get ahead of the weeds before they could ever start.

Here’s my end is season pics for my side yard and a picture showing how it began. I’m a huge believer in seeding mats as without them I would have had many washouts.

New construction and having equipment and projects going while trying to establish a slow germinating KBG lawn definitely tests the patience.

It’s turned very cold here in Souther NH. One thing I have observed over the last 6 weeks is an amazing thickening of the KGB. A majority of the lawn the grass despite being relatively short at 2 inches is very dense and it helps me to understand what I think is described by the term “compact”.

Sun in this pictures washes out the Color but I’m person my lawn is very dark now.

Got a few areas to fill in from when driveway went in last fall.

The lighter area is from little remnants of the straw in the seeding mat I used.

Got dimension down and used 1/2 bag rate of fert

I’m going to follow the Philes method for 2019 and proactively address potential disease using serenade.

My side yard is really thickening up especially with the Philes program.

My side yard soil is different than what’s on the rest of my property and the side yard has done well.

Good question lol.

I need to find the tag picture as looks like I didn’t list it in the initial post. I know midnight and blueberry were two of them. I can’t recall from memory the 3rd one
Tag was not sod quality but has 0% weeds.

One year later. Grass is growing vigorously from having followed the Philes program of spoon feeding.
