Do the storms know I just overseeded?!

Not again!!!

After hitting fungus issues last year seeding in Sept, I waited until early Oct - seed down on Saturday.

Now, just like my 2nd overseeding attempt last year, I have 2 inches of rain forecast which is gonna wash seed into clumps again.

Sigh, 4 1/4" now :(

Any tips on what to do afterwards? I'm assuming a bunch of the seed will all be clumped together (just seeded on Saturday so won't have germinated.

Try and re-spread what's there? Can't imagine that will be very successful. Put another light coat of seed down in the hope of catching some of the new bare spots? Don't want to risk putting down too much.

Sigh - what a mess for the 3rd year running!

(and no, there was no indication of the hurricane hitting us on Sat :( )

I hear you...after I seeded, flooding and torrential rain. After I fixed it...again. And now a flood warning and thunderstorms for tomorrow, and I only have partial germination.

I did try to spread out the seed with a rake carefully, and especially the peat moss, since it was too thick when it all went into one area. Also added more seed in areas that it obviously vacated from.

Good luck! At least in NC, you have more time before Winter to keep seeding and be successful.
