Friends 1.5 acres of k31 reno

Post by Coop_V » October 24th, 2019, 5:03 pm

So my buddy just had a house built right down the street and it's a little over 1.5 acres that he wanted to seed. He wasn't trying to go all out and do anything crazy but it was getting graded and it was gonna be full dirt. It was perfect timing for fescue around here about October 5th I think so we dropped 200 pounds of k31 and about 150 lbs of lesco starter. I also blanket sprayed it with about 5 oz Of tenacity. Well I went and checked it out the other day and I was extremely pleased with what I saw. I'm gonna post pictures of it here as time goes on to keep a little timeline of progress.
He's not looking for a perfect lawn and it still needs some work near the house because they are still doing a little work by the house so we have some touching up to do.

Cool. Looks like it's going great. That's going to be a very nice "utility lawn" eventually.

That's really good coverage from a distance. Any irrigation used?

No just mother nature. We got some decent rain after seed down. The backyard is a little shaded so it holds more moisture and came in better but I think the front will fill out nicely by springtime.

I'm always amazed by how fast both KY-31 and Perennial Ryegrass establish and look like a full lawn.

Here is some updated pictures of this lawn. It came in amazing for 100 percent watered by Mother earth. Looks really nice for k31.
